A coach should treat their own offspring like any other player. If Nick were not his son he would single him out the same way Booher does Beetle at Holmes and the same way Ken does Hatton at Dixie. Just because Nick is the coach's doesn't mean he should not be singled out. CCH would not be anywhere near as good as they are without Nick.

While he is 100% correct with his quote sometimes it's better not said. Maybe we missed some context. Maybe there were other quotes that didn't make the paper. But I get the reaction.

I didn't question whether or not everything revolves around Nick, that goes without saying. I'm not sure he has to go out of his way to showcase (in print) his son more than he already does, why not just credit the TEAM, or, if you want to throw some love to a kid, how about a freshman who hit a HUGE shot.

I understand how hard that is but if thats what he feels then say it. Not saying other kids dont need to be talked about....if other kids deserve it than give it. Its a team game but it does sound like they run a lot through him.

I didn't intend for this to become such an issue, but my point is simply that dropping that in, in that printed answer, looks overly gratuitous. It doesn't even fit really, so no need to jack-knife Ruth in there. He is a great player, love him as a kid, that isn't the point. Just appeared to be unnecessary and over-the-top. In my opinion.

I agree wholeheartedly. With that said, I can't disagree with Coach R either. 20, 10 & 7 is one helluva stat line.
