I hope he is alright because once whit went back to tackle Minnesota started getting pressure on Andy. Collins was doing great on Jarrod Allen and whit not so much.

If the Bengals win next week, they need both New england and Indy to lose in order to get the two seed. Indy wins a three way tie for the two seed.

 

Did you see that on sports center last night? If so they had it wrong because I saw it too. The first tie breaker is head to head. The Bengals would get the 2 seed in a three waytie the Colts need both the Bengals and pats to lose to get it.

I find it really crazy how people react differently during games. I am generally very quiet both in the stadium and at home. I will occassionally say they should do that here. My brother, however, is very negative with gloom and doom and wants to run everyone out of town during the game. Sometimes we just want to smack him up side the head. We all deal with this stuff differently and that is just how we process. My brother loves the Bengals as much as I do, we just handle games differently. I just understand that's the way he is and move on. i don't even argue with him during the game. To me he is so pent up he just is not realistic. To each their own. He ain't hurting anybody.

What I mean by that is when fans deny saying anything negative at times such as yesterday when Gresham fumbled. My son was at the game and said everyone around him was pissed and said things to Gresham etc. yet there are some that have the nerve to tell me that they were also at the game and no one said anything negative about the fumble. I went to games for 30+ years and know exactly how fans at the games react. To lie about it because you don't want to admit tthat you even have negative thoughts about a play is even worse in my eyes. I'mnot talking about you BM, the person I'm talking about knows.

 

Just don't be phony is all this fan has ever asked.

Congrats on the win Bengals. Our defense was very solid and the offense got it done. It's not easy to beat any NFL opponent by 4 scores. It is my sincere hope this team hasn't peaked yet and will be hitting on all cylinders over the next 3-4 weeks.

 

We're going to find out just how good we are when the bar is raised in the playoffs whether we play at home or away.

 

I've been critical of these guys as well and share Hellbirds frustration at times. It's hard not to become cynical after years of sub mediocre ( Shula, LeBeau, Coslett )years and then get a taste of what it looks like near the top in '80 and '88. We want to see that view from the top again limiting the number of obstacles to get there. So forgive us old farts for being passionate, and yes, over-the-top at times with our critical eyes.

 

We have a lot to be thankful for, a lot of folks would like for their team to make the playoffs three years in a row. Now let's see our beloved Bengals put up or shut up and get the proverbial one playoff game out monkey off our backs. They've got the resources and talent to do so. Take care of the football, play aggressive defense, utilize the run, adapt and overcome obstacles. They've got 2 weeks to shore up the special teams. We can't afford for this to be our achilles heel going into the playoffs. Get it done Bengals.

Now this is a great post. I definite understand people who we're around back in the 80s and miss that and became so down on this team through the years. My point all along is we have a team now that has been built right the last three years. Which is plenty of reason to be excited and positive about, which you have shown. It's afun time.

 

What I didn't realize was how even in the 80s with the super bowls how few times they still made playoffs. They did obviously do something with it though once they got in lol hopefully this year's team can do the same. I mentioned before the season that Bengals and playoffs are becoming a common theme which we fans should be happy about. Now it's time for the boys to take the next step though.

I said the same thing. They need to keep Whitt at guard. The line played their best all year when he went to guard the other week. As soon as he moved to tackle yesterday they got 2 sacks on Dalton.
