Randy has yet to take me up on the CCH invite to experience a big game there. Maybe we'll get him out of the 10th region this year.

I'm told that CCH had a throw-in where the whistle blew and the ref gave the "travel signal." If that's the case then that's disappointing. All refs should know that what the requirements are for a travel and NONE of them occur when the thrower is out of bounds. It's not a travel. It's simply a violation.

 

A thrower is allowed to move. There is no pivot foot on a throw-in. By rule the thrower can move forwards and backwards as far as he can without a)hitting the wall behind him or b)coming onto the court. He can also move side to side. He has a box of 3 feet that he must stay within. So moving in and of itself is not a violation on a throw-in. It depends on how far you move.

 

It's also NOT a violation to step on the line when you have a throw-in. The line is out of bounds.

My wife's attention was divided between Mr. Ruthsatz & the small contingent that made up the CCH student section. I explained to her that we will need to take in a CCH home game. Believe she'll go for it. Maybe that New Cath game.

DeAndre Jackson is very, very good. Smooth player, much better than I remembered.

 

Wilson is a monster, as he matures he is going to be very good.

 

Holbrook is the kind of kid you love, does it all, plays hard, competitive streak. Fun to watch.

 

Camels, in my opinion, really need to work on handling pressure and staying composed after breaking it. Got turned over a lot and took some rushed shots as a result of the press.

 

Ruthsatz was on fire in the first half, scoring at all 3 levels. CVH is going to be terrific, he was very good tonight. Schult is so much fun to watch, plays so hard! Schuh in foul trouble all night.

 

CovCath won the JV game by 1 with a walk-off from 17'.

 

They have some kids that can fill it up but that is definetly a weakness of theirs that I saw over the summer as well. No true PG kills them, IMO.

The CovCath Varsity completes the sweep of the Camels at Campbell County and improves their record to 3-0 and next play Rowan County @ Rowan County on Saturday Dec. 21th in the Kentucky Bank Classic with the tip off at 8:45pm.

Lawnboy just answered my question about what day of the week that is. January 10th might work. Depends on who's playing in the 10th that night.

Never been a fan of 10th region officiating and never will be. The worst officiated games I've seen have been by one 16th region crew and 3 games out at Campbell Co with 10th region officials...as a neutral observer I might add. Even though it's small, hearing this doesn't surprise me one bit.

I think you're mixing up two separate calls from the game. Camels were in-bounding after a foul (or a timeout) and the young man moved a lot more than 3'. Don't recall the refs mechanics for the call, but the whole building knew the call.

 

Wichmann tried to pull a made basket out of the net and quickly hop out and inbound it to Ruthsatz and was called for having a foot inbounds. I couldn't see clearly enough to tell you it was right, but ref was right there so I'm sure it was.
