Performing is dangerous, like being a Police Officer or Soldier at War-Kanye

Again just because you sale records doesn't mean you are a good artist or musician, just means somehow people have bought it. There are fewer music aficionados out there than people who are relatively clueless about music. I'm sure Backstreet and NSYNC and all other boy and girl bands of time had record sales through the roof (likely more than Kanye) I guess that means they are the greatest bands of all time. Oh wait... they didn't play instruments? But they sold the records so man they must be awesome.

The record sales logic is the worst argument anyone can make about the quality of music IMO.

I don't disagree. It's about as logical as the I-don't-like-him-so-I-am-going-discount-everything-about-the-artist-and-his-music argument.

Which makes him a million times more overrated IMO. Who ranks themself as an artist or compares themselves to the greats? Real artists let others judge their quality, not politic for themselves. The fact that he thinks he is so good is what makes him overrated IMO, he is no where close to being what he thinks he is in his own mind.

He is also overrated in the sense of how many people think he is a good artist. Very overrated in that aspect and in terms of his production and musical quality.

Okay. If you say so. Never been around or heard of rapper who didn't think they were the GOAT but whatever.

Is there a song Kanye is on that is considered a classic where the other artist or artists didn't stand out more? I admit I may have a jaded view of him. I've disliked him from the start. His persona just intensifies my dislike.

My opinion on him is not based on my personal opinion of him. I just think his music sucks, if he was the most like able guy on the planet i would still think his music was awful. Like I said college dropout was a solid album and had me a fan for a couple more albums. Eventually I just had to throw in the towel.

Through the Wire, Touch the Sky and All Falls Down are all top notch IMO. Not sure if they are considered classics or not.

Just because you think it sucks doesn't mean it sucks. I think all music that isn't rap or Justin Timberlake sucks. That doesn't mean it sucks though.

No but trust me, it sucks.

I know all music is matter of opinion, but I'm really starting to think he is terrible anymore. Even though it sold through the roof like all his stuff the critics have been pretty harsh on "yeezuz", some say its one of the worst highly touted and anticipated albums ever.

I guess that's what happens when you try to be like Christ or think you are Jesus, or if you are just mocking. If Jay-Z didn't have talent he would be the same boat being he thinks he is a god as well, Hova or Jay Hova as in Jehovah, you know....God. I've been able to tolerate Jay but if they keep it up with all this anti-Christian and mocking God and Christ stuff I'm going to have to be out on Jigga as well. I mean who compares themselves to God? I mean im glad Jay's a good entertainer but really?

Eminem doesn't think he's the GOAT. He's always reserved the top spots for Tupac and Biggie.

PC response. You're fooling yourself if Em thinks those two are better than him. He knows what would happen if he declared himself better than those two. And that's without bringing his skin color into the equation. Em is overrated but he isn't stupid.

East Coast rappers used to call themselves god all of the time. Some still do. Wu Tang especially.

I've it before and I'll say it again. I really don't care what a musician's beliefs are and I'm not going to believe all the crap about Jay Z until he admits it. He still laughs at people who question his religion and reminds them it is none of their business.

He calls himself Hova that's bad enough. I don't care what you think or what you believe its still not cool. Same thing with Kanye calling himself Yeezus. Most Christians wouldn't do this because it's blasphemous and ego driven. All I'm saying is if your going to name yourself or try to act like God then you better be blowing minds. Jay z has been good (probably not good enough to call himself Jehovah) but is he that good? Same for Kanye, if you're going to compare yourself to Jesus you better have more skill than that.

I could pull a number of videos off YouTube of major hip hop artists admitting the one rapper today you dont want to get in a lyrical battle with is Eminem. Em is elite when it comes word play and rhyme scheme. But I understand the music itself is personal preference. But his skill at rhyming is no where near overrated .

Yeah okay.

Kanye and Eminem are both overrated. Simple as that.

Yeah okay.

It's true man what else you think Hova means?
