Ballard 74 Holmes 65 (Scrimmage)

Featured Replies

They will be streaky this year. I'll be surprised if they have another 3-25 game. Bolden himself was 1-9.

Ballard did do a great job defending the high ball screen though. Bolden didn't get too many open looks from outside.

Colston was very streaky, but when he was on they were unbeatable, Plamer was more steady, but just didn't shoot enough. I hope they become more consistent. What scares me about streaky is you never know when it will go either way. I believe Ballard's defense probably had a lot to do with it. The free throws are more troubling than the 3 pointers. They are going to go to the line a lot, as you stated, because they do go to the hole with agression. This was a scrimmage and it's early. Good test for both teams. It is always good to see where you are early and what needs work. You get that by playing competitive teams to your team. Scott Co and ballard for Holmes gives them a lot of onfo to work with and vice versa.

Simple. Holmes attacks the rim and draws a lot of fouls. Chames strength makes him tough to handle inside. He drew a lot of fouls today. Holmes quickness off the dribble will also draw a lot of fouls because of teams trying to defend with their hands instead of moving their feet.

If Holmes can't make the free throws it really doesn't matter. If they are a team that draws a lot of fouls, they better improve their free throw percentage.

Chames has been putting in work so far this year. Nice stat line. I don't know whose more of a fan of him, Walter or Goldie & I. Seriously a fan of the kid's game though, and think he's going to be a steal for some school.

Glad you have joined in on his fan club....:thumb: Agree some college is going to get a steal with him.

Chames was every bit as good as Martin yesterday. Him and Hill are going to be one of the tougher front court duos to go against. They combined for 15 OFFENSIVE RBS yesterday and 23 total. Hill also had 2 blocks and both altered a lot of shots.

Chames is slowly makimg a case for top 10 player In the state for his class.

Scoring by qtr:

Ballard- 16...17...24...18...75

Holmes- 19...14...11...20...64

A bad 3rd qtr for Holmes ultimately decided the final outcome. Pretty even the other 3 quarters, with Holmes actually having a 2 pt advantage. I'll have video highlights up later today. You guys won't be disappointed.

Had a good friend who raved about him after their game with Madison Central. I watched the game later since everyone was talking about it and saw why. Watching some of their scrimmage with Scott County, he looked improved.

I became a fan of his last year during the state tourney. My favorite Holmes player.

I think we saw a lot of the same qualities. All of his contributions won't show up on the stat sheet.

Walter, do you know what schools are looking at Q Chames or showing any interest?
