I can sit in a tree stand at 11 degrees for 4 hours. Add water though and I'm out of the picture. Wet and cold for a dark, greasy meat doesn't agree with me. A few buddies swear by it and say it's the greatest hunt ever. I'm fascinated people can id the type of duck they're shooting. What's the skinny on the leg bands? Are hunters required/encouraged to email or phone id #s in to track migration routes? And compared to turkey loads, what do most folks use? Thanks for the education in advance.

I don't know how much fun parked for hours over decoys would be for me. Like I said above, we ride and shoot. I'd recommend it to any hunters who are ADHD. As for ID'ing the birds, it's like anything else, with a bit of experience you can tell the way they fly which is which. Sizes are different. And the very first duck I killed had "bling" on it. I called in the number on the band, and the bird was 2 years old, came from New England somewhere, can't recall the state. One that has a Dem as governor I'm sure. They sent me a certificate. Pretty cool. And that's the only one I've ever killed with a band to date.

December 9, 201312 yr There could be some fireworks at the meeting from what I here. There are people opposed to the goose hunt.
