November 28, 201312 yr Kobe fan dreaming. P.S. save me a drumstick Who else is available in 2014 that is better than Kobe?
November 28, 201312 yr Lakers don't have a roster next year its why every penny counts. Having tryouts for it this year.
November 28, 201312 yr Because your current best player might not be elite anymore What if he proves to still be elite?
November 29, 201312 yr http://m.espn.go.com/general/story?storyId=10045533&city=losangeles&src=desktop I think Kobe brings up a sound point.
December 2, 201312 yr You think Kobe would have gotten the same deal on the market? Absolutely. Say Paul George leaves the Pacers. Do you think the Pacers wouldn't pay for Kobe?
December 2, 201312 yr Bryant tweets speak to fellow stars - ESPN I think Kobe brings up a sound point. Yep. And that point is that haters are gonna hate.
December 2, 201312 yr Yep. And that point is that haters are gonna hate. Not that you have to go for the jugular and receive maximum pay every time, but I do not understand the vitriol athletes receive - Kobe, in this case - for taking money. He took a pay cut which in itself is admirable, but now is raked through the coals for not taking more of a pay cut. And I fully get not paying for past performance, but rather for expected production. But this is about more than securing titles for the Lakers. He is the Lakers. Kobe is box office. He is the driving force with their television deal and putting butts in the stands. Per Stephen A. Smith, who I trust more than anyone, if his production drops to the point of being "just another guy", he will retire. He is too prideful of an individual to let everyone see him vulnerable. Those on the outside looking in say, "well, how many millions do you need? I would play for little-to-nothing." No you wouldn't. We will ship LeBron a cookie for taking less money. But a few things. 1) There is a new CBA in place. 2) He sought an easy path for hardware because that would enhance his brand more than anything, and that is what he has gotten. With all that in mind, I still have my doubts as to how effective he (Mamba) will be. I am praying for a full-on recovery, but an achilles tear is about as difficult of an injury someone can return from.
December 2, 201312 yr I heard the Stephen A. interview also on Max and Marcellous and I agree with him as well.
