Anyone have any more details? Reasons for resigning? And possible replacement?

So just last year this Head Coach fires Matt Long as assistant coach and now she resigns.

I have heard about the drama. Dealing with drama as a coach has to be a very difficult task. You can either handle it and put an end to it or you can't.

I agree on both of your thoughts. However, with the talent that she was given year after year anyone could pile up the wins. Please do not take that I am saying that she is not a good coach. I believe that she is a very good coach.

NDA is a volleyball school so the talent will come, same as St Henry and NCC. Due to this programs success over the years it is probably not the easiest job to land and one many would cherish. If the poster is correct and she is gone it is time to wish her well and look to the future. That monster volleyball school in Louisville awaits her successor. Hopefully someone can figure out how to beat Assumption.

 

To your original question, why resign....why not. Long season, low pay, disgruntled parents and another failed run at the Championship sounds like reason enough but I have never seen this coach anything but gracious in victory or defeat. Again I hope for nothing but the best for her.

Andrea Lanham was named 2013 Enquirer Co-Coach of the Year, Conference, District, and Regional Champions every year but one that she was at the helm at NDA and State Runner Up this year (highest finish since 2007) yet she was run out of town by parents....Sad...Congratulations to her and best wishes.

 

Congratulations also to Tasha Tanner from Ryle who was Co Coach of the Year. Ryle had a record setting season and Ms. Tanner has been there a long time....happy to see her get recognized.

Without knowing a lot of the side stories just what I read on here, I would venture to say with the "circus" surrounding the program and lack of State rings with their talent is probably why some changes have been made. I don't think it's "sad" probably time for some change.

I don't think the lack of state championships is the issue. I think it comes down to individuals and their situations.

Capernicus... Since you aren't familiar except what you "read on here" please refer to the State of our State" thread regarding the other schools in KY that NDA is expected to compete with and did and will continue to. Andrea Lanham made mistakes, as all coaches do, but the season was over before it even began. The seniors and their parents will have to live with that.
