Coaching changes in the 14th

Featured Replies

Fraley and coach creech(daddy) are really good friends, I'm not saying he will help coach the wolves, he may stop by over the summer and help rework the offense and D. Those two coaches have a lot of legendary status in them.

You said it right. Creech will :walk: when he is ready. He will not be pressured by anyone at Wolfe Co. There is ties there that will not be broken.

Once Again  JOB SECURITY

So Owsley was in support of Hicks?? I did not get that impression while he was the coach but thanks for clearing that up!!

There were a few situations with Hicks that Owsley officials didn't always agree with which can and does occur in programs from time to time, but for the sake of continunity in the program, it was decided to keep him as coach. However he had already put in applications at Greenup and Bourbon Counties, and finally got the job at Greenup. He had come to Owsley frrom Scott County where he was an assistant to his uncle Billy. So he had become accustomed to a big school program, which Owsley couldn't offer but Greenup could. I don't think he planned on staying at Owsley very long anyway.

I have heard rumors that Coach Coldiron's job is on the fence right now. I'd say his job is lying under the weight of how Powell does at districts. I wouldnt venture to say that they have to beat Estill, but in the likely event they play Owsley for third - Coach Coldiron will surely need a win there to secure his job.

Powell can't play Owsley in the district tournament unless they meet in the championship game.

3 seed Powell plays 2 seed Estill in the first round and 4 seed Owsley plays 1 seed Lee. More than likely the final game will be between Estill and Lee.

A coach doesn't have to be young to be effective. That crap gets old after awhile. And every young coach gets older eventually, so what do they do? Get to old to relate to the players or even coach. That is bull too. There are lots of coaches out there, young and older and old who can coach. Passion, enthusiasm and hard work are all a must. Don't put a number on it.
