If you were the coach of the KY boys this summer who would you take on your team if you had say, 12 spots available.

 

MY KY TEAM

1. AJ Slaughter,6'2 SG Shelby Co.- I think he is going to win Mr. Basketball

 

2. Josh Mack 6'0 PG UHA-quick guard with penetration skills.

 

3. Tyler Wilkerson 6'8 PF Lafayette- the best biggin I've seen this year besides

Brandan Wright.

 

4. Antonio Owens 6'2 Combo-Guard Boyd Co.-can play either guard spot, very athletic, can shoot, decent defensively.

 

5. Daniel Ard 6'6 F Marshall Co.- solid in all aspects, athletic, can shoot and rebound, tough, coachable.

 

6. Robert Buckner 6'2 G Eastern- excellent defender quick as a jet, unstoppable when he wants to be-this is who I hope wins Mr. Basketball

 

7. Dan Penick 6'9 F Ludlow- adds necessary height and rebounding against the tall trees Indiana always brings.

 

8. Vincent Crutcher 6'4- Wing PRP- very athletic tough defender, can play multiple positions.

 

9. Jeremy Jones 6'3 PG- Trigg Co. second true point guard, can shoot and score will defend, heady player.

 

10. Pat Elliott 6'6 F Pendleton Co.- beast, will rebound and not back down, KY's enforcer on the court, also very skilled footwork in the post.

 

11. Walt Allen 6'4 F, So. Laurel- rebounds, scores, will work within frame of team.

 

12. Leroy Nobles- 6'4 wing- Central-explosive, defends, overall skill set, high.

 

Alternates- Aaron Dunaway 6'2 G Henry Clay SG, Maze Stallworth 6'1 PG John Hardin, Forrest Smallwood 6'5 SF Male, Jay Ivey 6'8 PF O. Catholic, Bryan Staed 6'10 C, Boyle Co.

I would put Dunaway on the roster for sure.

I've watched Dunaway play at least 6 times this year and he really has trouble creating his own shot, he is a very talented player and plays very well in the states toughest region , but he just hasn't played consistently dominant this year, and that is what was expected by me from him this year as well as lots of others.

Unfortunately it probably won't matter who is selected. Oden, Conway, and company should have their way with Kentucky this year.

Dan Penick should definitely be invited to the tryout for this game. He has already accepted an invitation to play in the Ky-Ohio Allstar game at Thomas More in April. Kids who are about to sign a Div.1 Scholarship and are from small schools need to be recognized. Who are the coaches going to be and who puts on this event each year?

He is averaging around 20 points a game against the best competition anyone is playingagainst. The offense Henry Clay runs don't help him either. Some of the people you have listed for the team don't have his numbers and they are playing aganst easier teams. Dunaway would average 25 -28 points in the 8th region. You have a kid who has scored over 2200 points playing in the 11th and you don't have him on the all-star team, get real.All kids have bad games and everyone you have listed have had bad games.

Dunaway is a great player and has to be on any serious KY All-Star roster.

In all honesty, a lot of fans in the 1st Region might not share the same view.

Boys coaches are Tim Riley as Head Coach from Warren Central and Morrow from Jeffersontown as Asst. Coach. Girls Coaches Don Dillard as Head Coach from Cristian Co. and Randy Napier as Asst. Coach from Perry Co. Seems like talented coaches representing different parts of the state.

Well thought out; but you would definitely need some help for Pennick and Elliott. Looks like Indiana may have one of their best classes in many years.

In all honesty, a lot of fans in the 1st Region might not share the same view.

Jones is very talented and very good when he plays under control.

 

From the west end of KY...Josh Mack is not 6' anything!! More like 5'9" (in shoes) but quickness and PG skills aren't measured in height, this kid can play!!

 

Jones is explosive and is better suited at the 2 guard. His leaping ability will suprise you if you havn't seen him play. He can take off ANYWHERE in the lane and throw it down.

 

Ard well he is B-I-G and has decent post moves and footwork.

I would have thought that I would have seen Tyler Mains on this list. He's a court general. The guy has a solid basketball IQ.

I only listed players that i have seen play, Dunaway is a very good player, but whose spot does he take? There is a reason i put everyone on the list that I did, I just think there are players who i would rather have and that is my opinion , by telling me to get real, you are acting dunaway is some unstoppable force he's a good solid player, but he can't create his own shot and that is the difference between him and a guy like Buckner, however you are entitled to your opinion i just disagree.
