I am sure once many of the schools realize the handshake is solely their decision they will cave and allow the handshakes because that is what schools do. In other words, there is no way for individual schools to wiggle their way out of this one and blame the KHSAA.

I don't remember postgame handshakes when I played (79-82) BUT, then again, there are lots of things I don't remember. I just don't remember lining up for an all-out handshake.

I just spoke with a soccer referee where most of the altercations seem to occur. It's his take that if he red cards a player, he gets scratched. In a game that took place earlier this week, a player was warned about the chippy comments he was making and was told that another comment would give him the card. Previous game to this, the kid threw a punch at another player.

 

Game is almost over and he mouths off on a call, gets carded. Coach starts up, gets warned.

 

Official is now going to tell coaches, "If this circumstance was in the classroom, how would you handle it??"

Why would anyone blame the KHSAA int he first place? I think the KHSAA has made a lot of silly rules and other things they allow go on but they really screwed this one up when in reality they should of just kept their mouths shut unless they want to ban the handshakes.

If most of the altercations occur in soccer, how do you know if they're real or fake?
