DF (or others), do you see Warren Central as the 4th's clear favorite?

Oh yes, very much so. They may not be a favorite of the size they used to enjoy from the 2003-2006 span, but they are very much the favorites. Defending champions, did lose six seniors. I've mentioned before, I don't want to diminish the contributions of those seniors, but only Walker and Dickerson were significant contributors (both starters). Wayne Baird and Jared Savage are prepared to step into the roles they vacated and I believe are well suited for the job. The Dragons return three starters with the two most significant names being the two at the top of the list in these rankings. They return four other players that saw time in the region finals, and they will continue to be the deepest team in the region.

Bowling Green is the only team I see mounting a significant challenge to Central this time around. There are strong pieces on other teams, but no other can match that depth, and I don't think there are any players out there like Robertson last year from Russell County.

This Purple has strong ties to the Warren Central basketball program and as a result will be a Dragon basketball fan until further notice.

This his reality has not yet sunk in fully and is a day by day process. All I can say is.......damn you Mitchell.......Go........Dragons.

This is going to be tough.

Just tell yourself you are wearing an extremely dark shade of purple.

Good lord PP...Boyle, BG, now Warren Central...is there anyone you don't pull for? Oh yeah, and I forgot about Burgin too.

I am loyal to a fault. Warren Central and Wes Unseld snatched up one of my good friends and an old legendary Purple. I can't root against him.

Even if he is a Dragon......sigh.............

What kind of game does Fant have? Does he have any outside shot at all? I'd imagine that if he does, he's just deadly.

Perimiter shooting comes and goes. He goes through some hot streaks where he makes a bunch. I don't have their stats from last year, but as a sophomore he led the team in threes made but also threes attempted, and only shot 31.5%. And I personally felt he didn't shoot them as well last year, but maybe that was just when I saw him because I'd guess he made around that again.

Fant is at his best going to the rim. He's elusive on the court just like he is on the field.

That's what I was guessing. I was thinking that with his athleticism, if he had a deadeye from three point range, he'd be the best player in the region.

Is the players list accurate? Is Perry Ayers from BG not one of the top 10 players in the region?

Perry didn't really play varsity much at all last season, so chances are the writer hasn't seen him play. He's made a name for himself more on the AAU circuit at this point and is probably still overshadowed by names on his own team. Kel Stotts from Russell County (transfer from Adair Co) is a freshman that could be close to this list.

Okay. I was wondering if something like that might be the case. I enjoyed watching him play this summer when I had a chance to see him play. I'm hoping to make at least 1 of the 4 possible BG/WC games this winter so I am intrigued to see how good he is in the non-AAU high school basketball world.
