Beechwood at Bellevue 10/11 Predictions

Featured Replies

District opener for both schools and this one should decide the district winner. This is a very different matchup than anything ever seen in this series. Both teams have offenses focused on the passing game with QB's putting up good numbers. Which team of Tigers is going to get the win in this one?

This game may last 4 hours, Bellevue has had 3 games go over 3 hours this year.

According to the maxpreps ratings, Beechwood is a big, big favorite. Is there that big a difference between these teams? Style wise they sound similar to me. Beechwood has played a much tougher schedule. Beechwood's defense has been more impressive. I see Beechwood scoring a lot. If Bellevue wants to get the win, they will have to put up more points than any of the teams Beechwood has played (28 to Franklin Co. and Cov Cath). I don't think Bellevue can do that. I will say Beechwood 49 Bellevue 21. Which brings me full circle to agreeing with maxpreps, which rates Beechwood 29 points better than Bellevue.

I think there is a big difference in depth and in line play with both favoring the Red and White Tigers. That will disrupt the Bellevue offense and result in Beechwood winning.

Beechwood better work hard and be focused in practice and on game day. Bellevue has some playmakers in their QB and RB. The defense needs to play well to contain the Bellevue offense.

I am not sure Bellevue can win, but I do not believe it will be a 29 point difference. Johnny Poynter has that team believing.

Could this be the year the black and gold Tigers do it? I would love to see it happen. Bellevue has been playing well here lately. I have a feeling it will be close in the first half, and Beechwood will pull away in the second half. Hopefully I am wrong!

Go Bellevue!

Here is a nice game preview article from this morning's Enquirer:

http://nky.cincinnati.com/article/AB/20131010/SPT030201/310100164/Bellevue-ready-tide-turn

Interesting stat about how different tonight's game is going to be from previous battles:

In Bellevue's last 4 games versus Beechwood, Bellevue has 145 yards passing. QB Tyler Ackerson will almost surely surpass that amount in tonight's game.

I also thought it was interesting that Bellevue Coach Poynter said he expects Beechwood to run the ball. With QB Kyle Fieger and all the good wide outs, I don't think that will happen. If it does, it is more a statement about Bellevue's defense than Beechwood's offense.

This is funny. I think this is his attempt at making the Tigers think he is unprepared and that he didn't do his scouting work :)

You do have to admit though, with Scruggs going for 250+ last week against Bellevue and Beechwood's offensive history over the years, the BW Tigers will surely try to run it. That is why I say if Beechwood does run the ball a lot, it is a statement about Bellevue's run defense.

No matter what the defense is allowing, Beechwood should be trying to run a balanced offense. Even if it makes it a closer game. At this point, everything should be about preparing for the playoffs and Mayfield.

I agree, balance is always the best offense. It will be interesting to see how the BW line fairs against the Bellevue line. Bellevue usually has pretty good size on the line, although they are usually slow also. BW NEEDS to have success running the ball in this game for several reasons.

Bellevue 28, Beechwood 21.

There we go! Now our prediction thread is complete! I was getting worried about you.

I think it will come down to coaching in this one and play calling, Bellevue has the edge IMO. Plus game is at Bellevue so a slight home field edge.
