October 2, 201313 yr X picked up a commitment from a 3* center Sean O'Mara from Illinois tonight. Old-school back-to-the-basket center. Great passer from the low post. He joins two 4* in PF Makinde London and SF JP Macura as well as 3* shooting guard Edmond Sumner.

October 7, 201313 yr Trevor Bluiett has decommitted from UCLA. Some believe it's now Butler or Xavier. Sounds like virtually everyone believes it is down to those two -- landing the #43 kid in America would certainly boost either program's 2014 class. ESPN already has Xavier's 2014 class at #9 in the country. SCOUT has it ranked #15. Adding Blueitt to that group would be a big move forward.
October 7, 201313 yr The new Big East is going to be an eminently watchable league and Xavier is going to be a big part of that. Outstanding success on the recruiting trail.

If we've learned one thing this recruiting cycle it's never assume you know what the Indiana kids are going to do. :lol2: That said I'm a huge fan of Bluiett and think mid 40s is probably off by 10-15 spots on the low side. Kid can flat out score from anywhere on the floor. I also think Sumner is way underrated. London is likely a bit overrated based on upside, but there are questions about his toughness and that isn't a liability that gets hidden well in even a modified and not as deep Big East. Haven't seen O'Mera but it is hard to believe he didn't have bigger options in a class that lacks post players. Will likely take some time to develop if he does work out. Shooters are always in demand so Macura is a strong get. I also wouldn't get too worked up over team rankings yet. Still a lot of big time guys on the board that will cause a lot of change...
October 11, 201312 yr Too far from home. I was only making a statement of his plans for the weekend, not where he'll ultimately commit. He will, in fact, visit Memphis this weekend. I think he ends up at Xavier and he is currently in "look around and be sure this time" mode.
October 19, 201312 yr ...... Looks like Blueitt is back from Michigan State and the decision is imminent. Sounds like Xavier, Michigan State, Butler, Memphis.....with Purdue a distant 5th. Blueitt will be a big get for whomever is lucky enough to secure the UCLA de-commit.

Sounds like the Trevon Bluiett recruitment, post UCLA de-commit, could wrap up in the next day or so. With Xavier, Butler, Memphis, Michigan State, and Purdue as his final 5, it looks like he may be playing his college basketball in the Queen City. As Gametime points out, he is a big-time scorer and would be a huge get for Xavier if that is the way it goes.
