Blevins is a Freh at UC and is making his 1st start in UC's opener vs the Gators this weekend. I put the link in the college thread if you want to read teh article. That's a heck of a way to start your college carrear!

Thank you! :thumb:

i saw blevins play at lawrence last year from shortstop it looked like he had a cannon. does anyone know how fast he can throw?

Generally in the high 80's to low 90's. The fastest I've heard from him is 93. He is a good quality pitcher who I wish the best of luck to. As long as he can make the transition to college style pitching he will do great. He neeeds to really work his off-speed stuff because in college you can't blow everyone away lke you can in high school. But Stevie is a heck of a kid and will do great at Cinci. Good Luck Stevie form all at Boyd Co.

Steve has developed an off speed pitch this past summer with the Cin. Midland Connie Mack which i believed finished in the top 5 in the Connie Mack World Series. He actually started closing games for them late in the season, but now has been working all winter and can throw 90 - 100 pitches without tiring. I believe he is throwing in the mid to high 80's but not bad for a freshman in college who is IMO still learning to pitch and should be a good one before his career is done.

well congratulations to steven on the big start hopefully it is a succesful one and i wish him the best of luck, hopefully we will be hearing more good things out of you.

Gators were too much. He gave up ( I think) 11 hits and 8 earned runs in 4 innings for the loss.

He had a great first inning however, he struck out the side of the #1 ranked team in the nation.

Steve is a QUALITY young man and a great player. I am sure he had some jitters against the Number 1 team in the country. He will bounce back and do well. I for one am pulling for him.

Good experience for Stevie and there will only be brighter and better days ahead for him.

Stevie's better baseball days are still in front of him. This was a great experience for him.

I also saw where Adam Yeager from Huntington is starting at shortstop for them.

HE is a great pitcher and will get a lot better.. Who would have jitters your first game against the #1 team.....

The fact that he got the nod against the #1 team in the nation says a ton about the type of player he is.
