As a parent of a young athlete, I just don't understand why Mr. Turner would put his daughter through this.

Deja is a talented young lady and has a bright future.

I hope that they make the right decision for her sake.

She should be on the court(Jr yr) not taking issues to the courts(KHSAA)

Will be interesting what the final outcome is.

I would agree, as would most, with the bolded above.

What always amazes me when I hear these transfer stories is the fact we are talking about HIGH SCHOOL!! I think as parents some people focus too much on the sport/athlete & not the education/academics!!! Transferring schools back & forth has to be hard academically!! And let's face it, as talented as she is what are the odds she'll play professionally? No one ever hears about the academic eligibility!!

Remember, you're talking about Lee. Who knows what he thinks!

What are the odds she plays professionally, "none". Hate to see that she is going through all this but it is what it is. It's not like this is her first transfer.

The fact that this isn't her first transfer speaks volumes about both the parent & kid's priorities!! They are not school hopping for a better education!! If academics wasn't important, they wouldn't call it "SCHOLARship"!!!

Turner''s 3rd appeal was reportedly denied. I guess that means it is official.

Now what??? Will she go back to Holmes??? I know you da man, but where did you hear that? Or maybe I should say, how do you know it's official?

Solid source.

I can't imagine she goes back to Holmes. Not sure if I'd let her on the team.

If her transfer was denied then she'll stay at Holmes & will play on that team...who else does Holmes have? The old school of coaches wouldn't let her step foot on the court after a transfer stunt but this generation doesn't know the meaning of "morals" or "ethics"!!! All they want are "wins" & "championships"!! Forget academics or behavior, its all about the talent & how to get a trophy!!!

:ohbrother: That is a disgusting assumption and stereotype. Exactly what generation are you talking about? Is there high school varsity coaches in their 20's? Are you talking about coaches in their 30's? 40's? For the record, I know several coaches from what I would say is a "younger" generation in different sports that care quite a bit about character, homework, representing their school and discipline.

From my understanding, the Holmes administration was not happy with this stunt. So I'm with Clyde, can't see her going back there. However, I believe she lives in the Beechwood district. I would imagine she could enroll at Beechwood and play. It would be interesting to see what they would do. They have some nice young talent there, along with a good coach (with morals). I believe the rumor is he even got some of the athletes that had left the program to come back! Teams should keep their eye on Beechwood. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

I don't believe she could play for BW either. No change of residence.

Someone mentioned to me that she actually lives in the Beechwood district and went to Holmes. If she does live in that district, could she go there and play this year?

No. She played varsity at another school. If she went to Beechwood without changing residency she would not meet one of the requirements for a waiver of the one-year sit.
