Wildcats come in looking for their first win of the year while Scott is looking to improve to 4-0.

Who wins and why?

Scott 42-7

Scott 36-0.

Scott is looking pretty good this year. Scott by 5 TD's

Scott by alot

Against who? Holmes (bad) or Aiken (worse)? They beat their only "level" competition by 1 point and that team is far from good (West Jessamine). What am I missing?

And, btw, I do think Scott wins, by 4 scores if they want to. I think they are a solid team, but they ought to be playing some better competition IMHO.

You forgot the win against unknown 5A West Jessimine. I just think Scott's Senior laden team and versatile running back corps will be too much for Newport, who did put up a decent fight against Camp Co and lost to Walton 13-48.

Didn't forget...that is the "level competition" I was referring to..5A. Scott won by 1 pt, right?

It makes sense to have Holmes on the schedule for travel purposes. And it's been a while since they beat Holmes anyway. Aiken is bad, but so was Taylor (the team Aiken replaced). Holy Cross is a downgrade from Franklin County, but West Jessamine and Mason County are steps up from Leslie county and Brossart (the teams they replaced). The district is tough (aside from Grant County), so overall I'd say they took a small step forward in schedule. You can't just go out and schedule tougher teams the years you are good (which Scott has never been). For this program, the schedule is fine. They'll have some success going into the district schedule. That's when we'll find out what they are made made of. As far as looking good so far, well, they are. This program has a chance to start the year 4-0...something that never has been done in the programs history. Woolley actually has a winning record as head coach.....no other coach for this team has ever come close to that.

Hey, for a Coooper parent, I'm as pro-Scott as I can be, trust me! Was stunned last year by their athleticism and speed and not one quitter in the bunch against our very tough Jag team. I told anyone who would listen that this would be their year, and I hope if it's not us, it's them that goes farthest. (Can not bring myself to root for Conner no matter what!!) Every thing you said above, I believe I've said as well. If you come rolling into the game against Cooper at 5-0, that rocks!! BUT don't expect Cooper, who very well could be 3-2 or (yikes) 2-3 at that point, to be an easy game for your Eagles. We've only recently tasted success ourselves and we really really like it!! We will have played the defending 2A state champs and four 6A opponents by then. Should be a GREAT game!!!

Never said the Cooper game would be easy for the Eagles. It is a measuring stick however. If they win the Cooper game, 8-2 or even 9-1 is a real possibility. If not, probably 6-4, and another trip to Franklin County in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Now I get it. Sorry I should have mentioned Cooper in my post, thought I was commenting on Scotts game this weekend. Good luck to your Jags.
