If you are reporting the final score be specific on how you know what the final score was of the scrimmage.

I never said I knew the final score. I know nothing about the scrimmage except the score that I read on here in the other thread, which was 87-20.

It was 47-6 at halftime when all varsity players were lifted by JC. Other had been subbed for at other points according to the poster.

Also, Fairview sat some 6 starters for various reasons according to one report.

Our film guy (may have) missed a series with scores for both Fairview's and Johnson Central's JV in the fourth quarter but there was no way the score was what was reported. Hope this helps

Important question ... why weren't the starters playing for Fairview? When will they be playing? Especially in light of what we know about Fairview's program, those questions need to be answered.

I am not sure anyone knows besides the Fairview staff. Some seemed to suggest they didn't want to give opponents the jump on their offense. This makes zero sense..why even schedule an opponent who is going to overmatch you and be better than anyone you could possibly see (including Mayfield.. I think JC would handle the Cards by a few TD's)? How do you know your offense is going to work if you don't put it to the test? Supposedly they scrimmaged Sheldon Clark (who is VERY down this season) and the starters did not play then.

 

Second theory is they wouldn't want to take a chance of injury against a team as big and physical as JC. Even in this case it would be an indictment on Fairview's overall team ability if they literally feel for the safety of their players. Belfry plays JC every year and they are a quality team who will smack you..but it's not like they are the 49'ers out there manhandling people. Seems t suggest a lack of confidence in their offensive line.

 

Finally, if the theory is to get the younger guys valuable snaps to make them better...you do it scrimmaging a team more to your level. JC's starting offense and defense played for less than 20 plays. Why not schedule Greenup County so you can go against their 1's for 30-40 plays?

 

All signs to me point to a scrimmage that probably should have never happened and a Fairview team who is about to take a step back from last year in a Semi-State that is so balanced you can't afford to.
