I need a backup QB and another RB and WR but based on scoring projections for our league Phil Dawson will outscore any one of the players that are still on my board so why not get the PK you want now?

 

Because depth at QB, RB, and WR are valued more than PK in this league. One major injury to your main guy QB and you now have Brandon Weeden as your starter and Kolb as your backup.

Kickers are easily replaced. Very rarely does anyone end with the kicker you drafted. I get a new kicker come the bye week.

Having played FF over 20 years, I've seen the K position decide many games and a few championships. I'll take one when I feel the value is right.

That's still a crapshoot though. A kicker's value is determined weekly. Even the highest scoring kicker is going to have games where he kicks two extra points to give you 2 points. I reuse to strategize about kickers. Too hard to determine.
