James Bolden and Rod Avery dunks at Oldtimers

Featured Replies

Went down to Randolph park today for the annual Oldtimers tournament. Here are a few dunks from Holmes juniors James Bolden and Rod Avery during the game I was at.

Was Bolden the second dunk?

Yea.

He is much more explosive compared to last year. Has probably put on 10 lbs on muscle this summer.

More explosive? That's down right scary!

Agreed. The video doesn't lie though. Bolden was able to dunk last year but wasn't getting up like that and doing it in games.

Walter, if you ever lose your day job you've got a great future as a "hype man."

Not sure how to take this honestly. Lol

Just trying to give these nky kids as much exposure as possible. If that labels me "a hype man" I think I'm fine with it.

Take it as a compliment.

I talked to Sherwin a couple weeks ago and he is a big Bolden fan...said he has the strength to play D-1

The kid in the first dunk better stop doing that type of dunk or he'll be dealing with a broken wrist. Impressive though.

6'5 Rod Avery...very under the radar in KY c/o 2015 but a kid that has big time potential if he is willing to put in the work. Have watched him do things like that all summer against all levels of competition. When I had him over at a Sherwin Anderson workout/open gym, he was dunking in traffic, catching oops, windmills in transition, you name it....Big time athlete.

He has grown 3 or 4 inches in the past year and a half so he is still growing in to his body both physically and mentally. Rode a bike all summer everywhere he went and that is why you see the explosiveness in the video. Very strong legs. Interested to see how he does this year for Holmes.

Ask Sherwin about trying to defend Bolden...that's why he told you that. LOL

"Country strong" is how he described Bolden's strength to me.
