Need direction help with 471 South closed from Newport

Better than Schneider's (which everyone raves about) if you ask me.

Agreed. Love Sweet Tooth, but I am not sure why since the two shops are owned by brothers and most likely have the same recipe.

Its the Newport in me coming out. I get that from my dad's side of the family.

You need to read this before your trip. It is updated frequently and details all the work going on.

Very nice! I did not know that website existed. Good news for All In, the ramps are supposed to be opened up on August 2nd.

I'm taking that the 471 North option is not a very good one, right? If that ramp is open at 10th I like those directions, does anyone know if it will be open thru August or how I can find out? Thanks again everyone.

It depends on where you're going. You can get to 275 if you take 471 North through downtown, then 75 south...but you're much better off just going 471 South to 275. 471 South is a much shorter distance.

Where is your final destination?

If you want, you can avoid 471 altogether. Go Rt. 8 to right on 3rd in Newport (The Levee) left onto York St, continue to 11th St, right onto W 11th St, turn turn left onto Central then turn right onto W 12th St. Continue onto Licking Pike which eventually becomes the AA. Seems like a longer way, but actually would take about the same amount of time if you just went 471 to get to the AA.

Wilder/Alexandria

If that's the case, just go the way I posted. Quick and easy and you avoid all of the 471 problems.

You definitely don't want to go 471 N then.

471 SB would be fine. Some of the Campbell Co. posters could help you out on backroads, if you want to avoid 471. I believe it's pretty easy to navigate from Bellevue to Wilder without ever getting onto 471, but I would just hop on 471 S.

With slower traffic and some delays on 471, it's probably quicker if he goes Licking Pike. I still go that way if I'm in Newport and want to get to somewhere like the Mellow Mushroom or someplace in that area. It's pretty quick.

Thanks everybody, I need to bookmark this thread, it has so much good travel information for me, thanks again.

Another route if you're heading for Alexandria would be to take a nice drive out Rt 8 east and turn up 1998 to get to US 27. If it's late afternoon you will run into traffic thru Dayton though. Pretty drive though.
