Educate me on the SEC Network. Will it be its own channel like ESPNU or will a station like ESPNU have its programs?

I guess this link answers all of my questions. Problem is it doesn't look like they have an agreement yet with Time Warner.

But now they will have their own Network out of Charlotte. I don't see it as another version of Jefferson Pilot. My guess it is like the Big Ten Network and your cable company has to offer it. Mine does not yet.

Seems like geographical confusion is a common recent theme in the sports world lately, what with the Fla. St. player who got an SEC Championship ring, as well as the Carolina Panthers T-shirts with a South Carolina image on it (with NC inside).

I think they are having it there because they already have studios down there for Espnu. ESPNU is going back to Bristol leaving that building empty and instead of building a new one, moving it there makes the most sense $$$$ wise

Yet? Something tells me you won't be seeing Duke and Wake Forest in the SEC anytime soon, let alone UNC and NCSU. The SEC heavyweights already got Vandy and UK for guaranteed wins; anything more and they can't keep scheduling I-AA teams in the non-conference and getting away with the "our conference is too tough" line.

Seems like Atlanta or Birmingham would've made a lot more sense. Did they get all the studio and camera equipment in the deal? If not, it still makes no sense. It's like the Big Ten having their offices in Lexington.

Yeah, it's an ESPN studio already. No different if they were to headquarter it in Bristol.
