July 13, 201313 yr Votto never seems to get a hit when it is needed...If Reds are winning big, he'll go 3 for 5 or down 4 runs he's money to get on base. But in a tight game Votto seems to always disappear. July 13, 201313 yr Votto batting .125 w/runners in scoring position and 2 outs (5 RBI) .200 w/bases loaded .287 w/runners on (hits 40 points under average w/runners on base) He's a machine when no one is on. .342 w/ no one one .361 to lead off an inning 11 of 15 homers with bases empty I like Votto, but he gets most of his hits when no one is on the bases...he does have 41 RBI which translate into less than 80 for this season...As Mustang said he's making $20M or whatever, Reds need more than a singles hitter for that kinda cash.

July 13, 201313 yr His power is fine, he has 15 HR's. it's his K's that are the cause of the problem. By him striking out so much it has caused him to shorten up his swing. He's falling back in the count more which means shorter swings, singles. If he were to start hitting earlier in the count his doubles would skyrocket. Also it would cutdown on the K's. with his BABIP avg. he would be having a ridiculous year. It's the approach that is the problem
