June 20, 201313 yr Which is why I always wonder why he puts Hanigan at 8th. If you're going to put Cozart towards the bottom of the lineup, why not put him at #8, so if the pitcher is ever called upon to bunt a guy over, you've got someone who could actually run to 2nd. In the National League the 8 spot is a very tough spot to hit for a hitter that struggles with the strike zone. Given Cozart's lifetime numbers of 161 strikeouts to only 41 walks in 213 games he would be an even bigger disaster in the 8 hole than he is in the 7th spot. While Hanigan is far from being a feared hitter he will work the count and accept a walk rather than chasing pitches out of the zone. He's much better suited to hit in the 8 hole in the National League than Cozart.
