Strange that those 2 teams would play each other in summer ball!

Saw in an earlier post that Boyle was missing 2 kids likely to be in their rotation one of which was a starter. Was Mercer missing anyone?

Who were the best players? I believe I'm correct in saying there were at least 3 All Area players from last season that were playing in that one.

And how is guard play looking for Boyle? They are definitely going to have size plus a scorer in Tyler, but still think that's going to be the key for them this season. I know you can't read too much into summer results, but what you thought about how that looks to be coming along.

I never got to watch the varsity play. Boyle was missing Micah Miniard(starter) and Josiah Robbins(possible starter, sure contributor) and I believe up to 3 more players as well. Keagan Hinkle ran the point for Boyle. I was told Hagen Tyler looked amazing, Zack Leigh had a good week as did Colton Elkins. Once they begin to play defense the way Boyle County plays defense and get their full team back they should be good to go.

Cool, thanks. I felt like DeSales was probably best team there but sounds like Boyle played pretty well to close out the camp.

A few things from a Mercer standpoint.... they need to improve their chemistry - figure out their roles -which will come with time. They had a key starter out in Davis. They have a player that I think is really going to surprise some folks as the year goes along. While they are lacking bigs, they are very long and have some athleticism - advantages that can be utilized with in right types of defensive schemes.. Finally, once the roles are figured out, I think they can present match-up problems for opposing teams' defenses. I'm confident that Coach Britt will bring them along.

Got to watch both teams play other teams as well. It'll be interesting to see how they fare in the regular season against each other and, more importantly, overall within the 12th. I think both should be top 5 in the region, and both better than last year. They are very different teams with different strengths, each with the potential to be good in their own ways. On a personal note, I know I always enjoy watching Will and Hagen playing against each other.

I heard things got heated in the stands during the Boyle/Mercer game. They better leave my buddy Kyle Bottoms alone. :D He's a good kid. He's going to be a good referee.

I wish Chris Goodman still played.

I can't wait to see who the surprise player is going to be.

Goodman has said he may come out in the fall.

As far as surprise player, I would think its sophomore Alijah Mink. He's about 6'3 and very athletic. If he gets the mental side of the game together, he can be a nice player in the 12th for the next 3 years.

DeSales won big. They weren't challenged at all during the camp. They shoot as well as any team I have seen. Didn't lose a game the whole week.

Yeah, that was unfortunate. And IMO Kyle is already one of the best around, much like his father has been for several years.

I've also heard that Chris wants to play again, but we will have to wait and see if that materializes. And the surpriseplayer is one that'll help us for several years to come....
