Drew Barker Earns Elite 11 Invitation

Featured Replies

Went to the Super Regional yesterday in Columbus and, by all reports, did very well.

He now gets to go to Nike headquarters to participate in the E11 which is now also part of the Nike's The Opening.

Big-time get for Drew.

No word yet on Reggie B from Trinity.

@Elite11: Congratulations to Drew Barker, the 16th invite to the #Elite11Finals. Was determined during #MidnightMadness.

Great to hear, can't wait until he gets to campus next year!

Reggie didn't make the cut but not due to his performance at the camp. Reggie made top group, and was discussed as a candidate for the "pressure cooker" drill but the coaches decided Against it because of Reggie's lack of game film. I heard it out of Trent Dilfer's mouth that reg would have been put into that drill and would have definitely had a shot at the finals if not for that because the one day regional isn't everything that goes into the selection process. He went on to say that he definitely sees what Louisville saw in him. So a bit of a tough break but a great showing for a guy who some people think will change positions once he gets to college.

Nice day for Drew. Got the E11 invite and picked up one of the MVP honors at the Nike camp in Columbus.

What a great kid! Got to spend time with Reggie, his brother and his mother yesterday. Great people. Great weekend watching some very talented athletes.

Also, getting an invitation to the Elite 11 finals is Stephen Collier from Ga. Some might remember that he grew up playing in the Boone County Pee Wee Football League before moving away after the 7th or 8th grade. Stephen and Drew were teammates on the same 3rd and 4th grade team. Then when Drew left the Sr. Division Longhorns to play Frosh as an 8th grader Collier went to play qb for the Longhorns because they needed a qb. Small small world.

I bet that their Pee Wee coaches Bob Napier along with Tim and Stanley Stone are probably one of the few, if not the only ones in the nation, that can say they coached two qbs going to the same Elite 11. Amazing!

Pretty cool stuff DD. Sometimes the stars do align. Both looking forward to catching up later this month.

For all the UK fans interested.........The Barker/Snodgrass connection was abundant and impressive today. Wow factor.

I vaguely remember hearing about Collier. Forgot all about him once he moved.

Has to be the only Pee Wee team in the country to have two E11s in the same year.
