Well I know we all score things a little different but I had it as a home run. Spoke with coach Coffey after the game and as soon as the ball kicked off the glove on the dive he was sending her. I scored the HHS book as a home run. Obviously it didn't make a difference in the outcome, but I guess if you would have to go by the book, the centerfielder touched it so give her the error if you must give one... Standing by the homer here...

Ordinary effort........I think not, she was on "her horse" and almost made a sportscenter worthy catch, young Ms. Coffey put a "jolt" into that ball. Like JMU mentioned earlier, great effort on both sides.

Sorry guys .... I was just throwing a little sarcasim on the center fielder comment. I wouldn't have given her an error at all. Heck I'm probably second to LB in giving out errors. My own DD leads the team in errors. I was probably a coin toss either way. Most of all I'm happy for the rivalry with NC. (In my day there was only one C) and they really were our main rival. Cov Cath was just another notch on the belt back then.

Was watching Coffey through the lens and not the field.

This shows Coffey was full speed with Coffey sending Coffey home.

Nice pic but it doesn't help solve this mystery bc the ball was botched before she got to thrid so yes she would have been running full speed home.

 

I will say this which may or may not make sence. If she has no careers homers before this ab I would give her a triple...if she does give her a homer...I say this bc I would bet my house this young lady will hit plenty over the fence the next couple years and nothing like your first career homer being hit over the fence.
