In situations such as this it's helpful if you're willing to step outside of yourself and try to see it the way others might. Like approaching it as though you didn't have a changing table, for example ...

 

They didn't approach it as if I didn't, but I'm not sure why, with an infant, I wouldn't have a changing table though.

 

 

If I didn't have any kids though and someone did it I could probably see more of a reason for concern though I suppose. Still not the best analogy though.

No way should you change a baby on a table where people eat food. There are other ways to handle changing. I've changed my grandkids on floors or in the car when there was no other option. However, Starbucks should have handled it much better rather than laughing and speaking in a demeaning tone
