McCracken County 2013

Featured Replies

What does McCracken County need to do in 2013? What do they need to do to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

They'll be a good 6A team, but not what Lone Oak could have been in 2013. Lone Oak was getting ready to be a monster for the next two years in 4A. Now there seems to be a lot of talk about some of LO's top Soph.'s (who were very good and very big) ending up at or already working out at Paducah Tilghman. I would say MC and Henderson will battle it out for the Region.

Who is the Mustangs Head Coach? I'm sure it was mentioned on BP but I cannot find it.

Legendary Jack Haskins, the current Lone Oak coach

Thanks MC Guy. I thought I heard that but never saw it in writing.

PT would certainly be better off if they had him, just sayin

Maybe so, maybe not.

Jack definitely has the experience edge, but hasn't fared well against Wyatt.

Can't deny that fact. Outside of those couple head to head games and Haskins inability to ever beat Mayfield, he has been incredible. Of course Randy has yet to ever beat Mayfield either. In my opinion from afar in Mayfield I feel like Haskins has generally overachieved while I feel Wyatt has under achieved given what he has had to work with. He did get the 1 title but in general PT has been a disapointment under Wyatt. Just my take for whatever its worth. I would think this years PT vs McCracken County matchup favors PT.

Completely agree

Tilghman traditionally plays up against the rest of the state...Haskins has traditionally played down against WKY teams. PT, with half the kids MCC will have is playing a FAR tougher schedule in 2013-2014.

McCracken's problem this year will be that they are basically Lone Oak moving up to 6A. Reidland and Heath's football programs had both fallen to rock bottom and won't add to McCracken like they will in other sports at the beginning. As Haskins builds that program from the bottom up with more of a pool of kids I expect that McCracken will get real good real fast over the next few years.

Heath will provide 10-12 solid players and Reidland 8-10..Those 2 teams didnt have much depth, so, they werent very good teams, but, they did have some kids that could play, so, I think it's foolish to think it'll be all Lone Oak kids that'll play..Yes, the majority will come from there, but, it'll be Lone Oak plus about 20 more quality players..They'll be very good, even if they lose 4-5 to Tilghman..I think they'll end up being better than Henderson..
