Breathitt County 2013/2014

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2013/2014 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Breathitt County? Remember, please be constructive.

Has the superintendent fired anyone else?

Has Breathitt hired a coach yet?

Not yet. I had heard Brian Hall's name mention, current Powell County head coach. Also heard former Breathitt HC (Current Breathitt assistant) Doug Noble but I have heard that his son Wes maybe going to Letcher Central so that might throw a wrench into things.

Not that a I know of but it sure is a messy situation to say the least

Totally wrong information....the job will be hired from within the system...Hall's name has never been mentioned in the mix.....Noble will remain at Breathitt and his Dad will be the next Coach....about 99% sure of that....

Going by what I was told from people close to Breathitt. About Noble being the new head coach, that's what I've been thinking since they fired Coach Fugate

I think the superintendent went to jail for vote-buying, didn't he? Or has he been replaced?

Also, with the state taking control of their school district, what say will Frankfort have (if any) in hiring of personnel, including coaches?

Superintendent Turner has been out of the system for over 2 years now...serving a sentence as we speak.....state has appointed a replacement who is doing a great job cleaning up a huge mess.....hiring will come from within the system with new super calling the shots....

Thanks, wasn't sure when that stuff happened. Good luck with their hiring.

Will the new (interim) super be the permanent super or will they look at someone else?

Superintendent Hammond will remain in the system until running properly which means no timeline.....
