The battle of the Campbell Co. "fish-eaters" goes to the Breds. NewCath pitcher Sarah Neace allows only 3 hits in front of a packed crowd tonight at Bartlett Field. Tricia Kramer for the 'Stangs played one hell of a game chasing down balls in centerfield tonight. Had a very nice conversation with the BigGreenHorse prior to the game. The FANS were treated to a very entertaining game this evening thanks to both teams. Now on to the recap.

Brossart 1st - T. Kramer solid rope single to left, A. Graus sac-bunt 5-4 (Kramer to 2nd), K, PO4.

NewCath 1st - Ware bunt single, Kohls reaches on an E6, Zimmerman singles to right. Schreiber hits a "mammoth" shot to deep center (any other field it's a grand slam) that Kramer hauls in, Ware tags an scores (Kohls advances to 3rd), Burkart hits one to 3rd and E. Greis pump fakes and a pickle ensues and when the dust settles all hands are safe. Martini RBI single thru the 5-6 hole, PO2, Mertle RBI single to center, GO5-3. NewCath 3-0.

Brossart 2nd - BB, BB, PO2, K, E4, GO6-3.

NewCath 2nd - GO6-3, FO8, FO8.

Brossart 3rd - K, FO7, K.

NewCath 3rd - PO4, GO5-3, GO6-3.

Brossart 4th - BB, PO6, GO5-3, K.

NewCath 4th - Enzweiler doubles to leftcenter, GO6-3, PO2 (bunt), FO8.

Brossart 5th - LO4, BB, E7 (dropped fly ball), FO8, FO7.

NewCath 5th - Kohls singles to left, GO6-3, PO6, GO1-3.

Brossart 6th - GO4-3, FO7, E. Riedeman doubles to right, K.

NewCath 6th - Martini triples to the fence in rightcenter, FO7, Mertle with an absolute "missile", but right thru the "wickets" at 2nd (E4) to score Martini, PO8.

Brossart 7th - A. Lloyd (pinch hitting) singles to right (C. Woeste re-enters running), T. Kramer lines to Kohls at 2nd and fires a strike to Burkart at 1st to get Woeste for the 4-3 "twin killing", FO8. BALLGAME.

Brossart (7-13) 0-0-0-0-0-0-0---0-3-2

NewCath (12-10) 3-0-0-0-1-0-x---4-7-2

These hugging chats are boring...I thought it was more entertaining when Baller and JMU were throwing jabs yesterday...I'm going to go back to reading that thread...seriously though, Neace pitched a very solid game with the shutout. Too many 1-2-3-4 innings for the Stangs and couldn't string hits together. Thought both sides were going to put up more offense...

I agree!

Congrats to both teams for a well played game...

Your right about not being able to string any hits together and when we did hit it hard it was right at someone. Congrats to NC on doing enough to get the win. JMU you were right about Lawn Boy everything he touches goes bad. won't let him carry our bats down the hill next time!

If that's the case, I should of found the Kramer girl before the game to shake her hand.......she looked like Willie Mays in centerfield lastnight.

Congrats to NCC on the win. Thought they would win but thought both teams would score a few more runs. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.
