Scott injury woes continue

Featured Replies

So from a previous thread about the Scott/SK

game-does this mean Scott is "getting what they deserve"? Just wondering...

It might just be history guess you will have to wait and see, and i hope coach roberts loses everytime he plays scott.

I know there have been alot of discipline issues there. And from what I have

heard and seen alot has to do with coaches. It's to bad since there are 3 very good coaches up there. The Frehsman and JV head coaches and a Varsity assistant who should have gooten the job when Roberts left, the rest seem to think they are above the players. Interested to see what you are talking about Gmen since myself along with many others have alot to do with kids coming to this school.

You know how kids are ask questions and they will tell you whats going on. I don't have a kid at scott or planning on going to scott but if i had one that plays baseball i would be a little concerned i was all for this change i thought it was a good move but now im having second thoughts. I have friends who's kids play for scott and they know alot about what goes on so ask little johnny.

Time out. First things first, you're going to tell me that Jeff Trame acts like he's above the players? I'll tell you this, you'll never meet a more humble and better person than Jeff. I've know Jeff many, many years and never have I witnessed such behavior. Now, for you to hide behind a message board name and say that the freshman coach should have gotten the job over Trame is probably the most contradictory statement that's ever been typed on BGP. Norton is the most cocky and arrogant bully I've ever known. He treats his kids like garbage and pretends that he's above all. You obviously must not know him well enough or maybe he just strokes your kid so you think he's amazing?? You say there are discipline issues? Fine, there probably have been, just like in every program across the land. However, is this the avenue to take in order to get them resolved? Doubtful. Maybe I read your post the wrong way, but I'm not a BGP "coach basher". Jeff Trame is a great man and in all his years coaching has never been above anything or any person.

Finally a post from the Scott faithful that I agree with. Coach Trame is 100% class.

You mean you get to chose where kids live?? Is this some kind of a threat where your going to rally the Taylor Mill community and recommend all the kids go to Dixie or SK??

Don't assume the Kids know as much as you think they do, or are being as forthright as you think they are. I know there has been a lot of grumbling going on about the program. But some of that stuff is coming from folks who aren't being pampered to and aren't being the contributors that they think they should be. There is a small group who think they are a lot better then they really are, and the negativity that they are bringing to the table needs to stop. Jeff is a good a human being, and coach as there is. Try approaching him with your issues rather than airing them publicly behind the anonymity of a high school sport forum.

Kids can decide where they want to go if they live in Kenton County. So believe me they go to Dixie and SK over Scott that is well documented. I for one would love to see all the kids that are in Scotts district go there. My son goes there and i have alot of friends whose kids go there. And there are alot of parents unhappy with that school. I know they are making changes to make things better but they have a long way to go. As far as me saying Trame was a bad person or coach that is incorrect. I never mentioned names. And the coach i said should be the Varsity head coach is and assistant Varsity coach not Freshman. But anyway you bash all you want. I just see and hear alot being around that school as much as I am. I hope it gets better before my younger kids get there. I am an Eagle supporter not hater.

I re-read your previous post and now see that you said Varsity assistant. I apologize for my reading error and attack on you. I do not apologize for my support of Jeff Trame, nor do I apologize for anything else previously said. I love BGP and have been a member since its inception (name changes), but I do not love the people who vent or hate on here. I hope that whatever is causing issue in the program is stomped out. If it means removing players and their ignorant parent(s), then so be it.

Yep they do have a choice, and many will find out the grass isn't any greener elsewhere. I'm around Scott High a lot too, in fact nearly every day. And I'm well aware of whats going on in the baseball program and am very close to that program. And it's not a coaching issue, it's a parent/athlete attitude issue. I get it, you (and i mean this generally, not specifically directed at any poster) want your kid to be the best, and it's hard to accept when he's not doing everything you think he should be doing. But, sometimes you have to accept reality and recognize your child's limitations. The one's that can't do this, seem to cause the most problems. And most if not all of the negativity swirling is unwarranted, and comes from a few bad apples.

For the record I dont hate Trame. I barely know the guy. Just stating things Ive seen and heard. I dont have a kid who plays baseball so Im not a disgruntled parent for baseball either. I just know there are plenty of parents and players very unhappy and I hope things get better for the program.

Jeff Trame is a great guy but that don't make you a high school baseball coach, the freshmen coach knows more about how to coach a game and teach the game than anyone on the jv or varsity level imo but i guess he didn't stroke your kid now he is arrogant, cocky, bully come on man pay more att to your kid playing in the dirt than the way a coach carries himself i will take arrogant and knowledge over class and clueless when it comes to baseball.

So you're saying Jeff is clueless?? Really??

Miller, you are way off on this one. Norton might be a bit cocky and arrogant, but the man knows his baseball. As far as treating his kids like garbage, I've not seen this EVER and I'm pretty close to the program. If you want to learn how to play the game, he's the man. I do agreee that I've never seen Coach Trame act like he is above the players either. In fact, he maybe a bit too much on the other side at times by not holding them to specific standards. I think what we are seeing is what you would normally see with a whole new coaching staff at a program. Different ways of doing things that might rub some people (parents/players) the wrong way because it's different than what was done in the past. Give it another season and I think you will see things go much smoother. I hope I'm not wrong but I feel good about things at Scott.

I would agree with this also...Norton is solid and in my opinion, a perfect fit for the freshman level, as he really not only teaches the game well, but also teaches kids to respect the game and how to be and act like a baseball player. And I think you are correct......some folks are struggling with the change. As I mentioned earlier, there is a small, but vocal group of folks stirring the pot.

You're too funny. I stand by what I said. If you don't like someone calling out your guy, so be it. Don't come here and try to bring down a program and its head coach because you don't have the stones to handle things face to face. You're wrong on this one. Get your popcorn, son.
