All do respect, "Walter", but if you want to keep something quiet you shouldn't post here that HC has made a hire, but you can't release the name yet. That would be considered noise. Quiet would be not posting. I enjoy your posts and also your videos, etc., but come on son, you're just asking for it when you start a thread like this.

Person who told me said to go ahead and post the information, just don't give the name.

But it is really really important that Wally let everyone know he kew about it first.

Please don't forget Wally knew it first. Who knew it first? Oh yea, Wally. Man is he connected or what?

Doesn't the varsity basketball coach have to be a teacher or at least work for the school?

Not at a private school...I think.

I believe Scott Ruthsatz (Covcath) owns his own business and coaches "on the side."

Not at a public school either......................I think it is desirable to have a "coach in the building." But certainly not a requirement.

Coach R teaches at CovCath and he indeed does own his own business.

Thanks, TOG. He does own his own business though, doesn't he?

I don't think he's involved anymore. I believe he sold it.

To my point, Coach Ruthsatz is a full time teacher and the head varsity coach. His assistant varisty coach, JV and Freshman coaches are not teachers.

It was my understanding, for parochial schools, the varsity coach has to be a teacher. Can anyone clarify?

WALLY please STOP. You know nothing. As others have said on here, Coach R does have a business, he does teach at CCH and he does coach at CCH.

No. You have to have 64 college credit hours to be a head coach, but no degree. I'm almost certain that to be a paid assistant you must have 64 credit hours as well. That could be wrong, but I thought that is what the rule is from the KHSAA.

Have heard the same thing. It's my understanding that if a coach is a "para-professional" and a full time school staff member wants the gig, they could possibly take over the program from the current coach. Would depend on circumstances and school board.

You mad bro?? I know a good person to help you with all these issues.

In fact, I work out at Fitworks four nights a week and am there usually between 1-4. Come get a workout in with me. That'll help you relieve some stress. If that doesn't work, I know a high class place over on Monmouth in Newport.
