I think season 1 was awesome as well because Sutter IMO clearly knew the show would be a success and was laying down the foundation for everything to come. All of the backstory of Jax's father, Gemma, Clay even Wendy and Tara. Was just really well put together from the start. I also thought they did a great job of using Jax as a bit of a narrator and still do, it just helps you to find that even ground with him and understand his actions better to an extent that the audience can almost agree with the choices he's making because of the positions he's been in.
