Final from Highland Park

W-SO Mitchell Jones, L-Kincaid (Tiberi started for the Indians)

JR Evan Allen with a double and a 2 run home run over the right center wall.

SRs Hector Molina and Quentin Murray both went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

SO Mitch Jones pitched a solid 5 innings after nearly getting decapitated by a line drive by Tiberi up the middle.

SR Jake Liggett came in to pitch 2 shut down innings to finish the game.

Tiberi went 2-4 with a single, a double and 2 RBIs.

Nice win for the Birds. Nice game for E. Allen & Company.

Nice win for the Birds on a beautiful March day at Highland Park!

Well done by Jones after a scary near miss by an absolute bazooka shoot back up the middle by Tiberi. Nicely finished off by J. Ligget also.

And a big congrats to E. Allen on his first Var dinger going just right of center only yards from where his previous big double landed. Glad to have you back young man!

Nice bounce-back win for the Birds. After dropping a close one to Beechwood to start the day, HC got out to an early 4-0 lead with some solid hitting.

A 5 run 3rd inning was capped off by the 2 run, 2 out HR from SO Allen to give the Birds a lead.

HC tied it up in the 4th, but the Birds plated 4 in the bottom of the 5th to push it out to the final margin.

Nice work by SO Jones to go 5 without his best stuff and location. Liggett was a strong change of pace that kept HC off balance over the 2 innings he threw.

Birds are scheduled at Campbell Co. on WED before a FRI night game at Carroll Co. and SAT at Elder. The team heads to Myrtle Beach for 7 games in 5 days after that.

Did he get a medical redshirt?

I was able to catch a few innings of the HC game.

Is the 3rd basemen for HC Tiberi? If so, then I very impressed with him, man amongst boys right there.

Also, something that struck me really odd was the amount of heckling coming out of the Highlands duggout by the kids, sorry just not a big fan of that at this level

Yes, Tiberi #25 pitched 2.33 innings then moved to 3rd base.

Was not there, but heard the heckling during the windup was unprofessional at best.

Kids will be kids. I like it to the extent that it keeps everyone's heads in the game. But it does get annoying and a little too overboard. But it's no worse than when a basketball coach yells rebound while a free throw shooter is in mid shot on their first of two.

Heckling can have a lot of forms.

What did they say/do?

I can assure that Coach Baioni would make sure his kids were keeping it classy. He very much respects the game and makes sure the kids do as well.

Did he get a medical redshirt?

I figured the concussion set him back a year. :)

So were they yelling these?

Hey Batter batter batter !!!!

or

Pitcher's getting Nervous !!!

LOL

Yep, that sounds about right...seriously I think that's what they do...

I guess its harmless and I know Baoni would never allow anything negative and yes kids will be kids, but for me personally Iam just not a big fan of it at this level and age group.:thumb:
