March 26, 201313 yr It's probably better said that in 1992 Bush got 10% of the black vote and in 1996 Dole got 12% of the black vote. Carter got 82% in both elections. Now those numbers are more accurate. I knew that the 90%+ number thrown out there was an exaggeration, more like 80%+. Regardless, Republicans obviously are sending the wrong message to minorities.
March 26, 201313 yr The highlighted part of your post is not accurate. Clinton did not receive 90% of the black vote in either election, doubt that Carter did either. Some of the others may have though, but not all. It's probably better said that in 1992 Bush got 10% of the black vote and in 1996 Dole got 12% of the black vote. Carter got 82% in both elections. Thanks PP92. So, 4chs, I was off a little but still, you get the point. Republicans better get a solution to immigration that will win them hispanic support or they are done for the foreseeable future.

Unless we totally crash and burn economically again which is a possibility.

I really don't know the answer to this question, but what percentage of the black vote did President Clinton receive? Even though I never voted for President Clinton, I think he turned to be the best of the last 4 Presidents. He had no wars to deal with and a good economy going for him. But, to his credit, he didn't mess anything up either (except a blue dress).

The black vote was 10% of the total vote in 1992 and 1996.

What this would confirm then as far as blacks, they are pretty consistent voting Democrat regardless of the candidate. This can probably be said as well for labor (knowing how much they contributed to Obama's election), people who own companies that do government contracting (but probably not defense contractors who would go Rep.?), hispanic (in the last two elections, but really could have gone the other way with a little reach from the Rep.), dedicated liberals (at least the one's I know). And the Reps. have their voting blocks also. What it seems to me is that we have become subdivided into blocks or factions and unity is a concept of the past.
