Any word out of Nicholas County?

Local briefs: Saints' Arn steps down; Black Devils drop district opener

"I will always cherish my time as coach at St. Patrick, and the friendships I have gained," Arn said in a text message to the Ledger Independent on Monday. "But I need to do what's best for my daughters, and at this point in my life that means spend more time at home. I will miss it every day. Thanks to St. Patrick School, all my former student-athletes, and supporters who helped me along the way."

Arn led the Saints for four years, during which time they were 42-66. Their best season was a 15-13 mark in 2011-2012.

He is a single father of three daughters.

Apparently there is an AAU coach interested in the Casey County job.

What other ones are still open?

Nicholas County

Saint Patrick

Harrison Co. High School grad Matthew Taylor is the new boys' basketball coach at St. Patrick. He was a grad assistant at Texas-El Palso.

Villa Madonna is open.

I was told the Nicholas County position was filled by a former Bath County assistant. Can anyone verify/disprove that?

Roger Newton is what KHSAA has listed on the school's directory. That's also the name I've heard for the Nicholas Co. Job

Who is Roger Newton?

Villa Madonna is open.

I saw that this morning. Any news on this??

Newton is new Nicholas County coach. He was assistant at Tates Creek and Owen County before becoming a head coach. He started the East Jessamine program then moved over to LCA. He was a varsity assistant last year at Bath County.
