St. Xavier 2013 Football Schedule

It shall be an improvement. But there's nothing wrong with having the best athletics program.

Then I'd go talk about it in their appropriate forums, this is football.

This is a common event on bgp. Thread is about subject A and people talk about subject B. it's not like there was 3-4 pages of our superior athletic program, just 2 comments. So know need to get mad, because your program is inferior to ours.

You're so adorable AT. The historically erroneous nature of your posts regarding the rivalry amuses me. In fact I struggle to think of a time in which you were right.

Your Tigers can dominate French Scrabble, soccer and the country club sports all you want. I will be content with knowing that none of Trinity's all time great coaches was subtly pushed out and that we own the football title count and the lead in our series. Good luck in the fall son. I hope for something more like December than every other game the last few seasons. A challenge from the once great Tigers would be nice.

AT, they can enjoy their smack talk for a little while longer because come fall... The Tigers will be back on top where they belong. For now though, we can enjoy our 4 titles already and 4 or 5 other about to come this spring. Definition of domination.

How many coaches at Trinity in the following sports have been "removed" because they could not "win" the big game...? Ie. vs. St. X or State Championship

Soccer

Baseball

Tennis

Cross Country

Swimming

Just asking... ??

No Trinity coach was ever dragged through the dirt like Donlon, Bergamini, and Glaser.

Donlon coached 20 + years

Bergamini coached 20 + years

Glaser Coached 25 + years

All had there opportunities to succeed and they did!!! Trinity has had a documented (CJ articles) past of "releaving" coaches due to not meeting expectations!! How does the name Matta sound...? Soccer coach that was let go a few years ago because the team was preseason no. 1 and did not win state... I think he may have coached 5 years.... Big difference to reality and "preceived" status.

You have a very limited memory because Chuck Servino was ran out of town! Also happened Aberli in basketball and Chancellor the last baseball coach as well you need to do your reasearch rookie!

Focus on the topic: Should be a very exciting Fall gridiron campaign for the Tigers. Really looking forward to it!!!!

There is a difference between removing coaches in a short time with limited to no success and basically forcing out a living legend for the school. All schools of one form or another remove coaches who don't stack up. It just usually isn't the man with more titles than any other coach in school history, most wins in school history and so on.

If Beatty starts losing to X again and doesn't win a title for a few years and all of a sudden he is removed or "retires" then we can have that discussion. Until then you will just have to live with the fact that the alumni pushed a legend of football not only for St.X but the entire state. None of the coaches you mention for Trinity even came close to that.

And how much success did they have? Glaser was legendary, these guys were flashes in the pan by comparison.

They were all solid coaches and great people but the win at all costs attitude of Lampley got them booted and none of them wanted to stop coaching at Trinity! The old expression don't go throwing stones applies here!

It is unfortunate that Coach Glaser could not exit on his own terms, but it would not surprise me if he started assisting another team in some capacity.

This should be another fun season at Tiger Tech and so far 2013 has been pretty good to the Tigers.

Roll Tigers!

Something tells me old Coach G didn't want to stop running the team at X either, I mean the man took them to some of their greatest heights. It is horribly unfortunate that the Xaverian faithful didn't seem to have the same kind of faith in him. In fact I seem to recall the stadium looking much emptier than usual during the last two games this past season. Such support for a legend, you must be proud.
