Hellbird Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats Ryle, both union schools heading to the Regionals.
legend23 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrat to the Raiders, who not many were picking to advance. Huge game from Will Stuhr, 23 pts. 23 Rebounds and the straw that stirs the drink for Ryle, Mays 13pts 4 rebounds and 6 assist.

Qryche11 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Boone County better work on blocking out this summer. 23 rebounds to the same player is ridiculous. Congrats to Ryle !!! Good Luck in the finals vs Cooper.
Walter Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Ryle beats Boone by a combined 3 points in 2 regular season games then puts in on the Rebels on their home floor in the district tourney... Just goes to show in this region anything can happen on any given night.

Voice of Reason Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 McQueary got all he could out of this team. Nice job by Ryle.
StraightShooter Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Congrats to the Raiders and what a huge game by Will Stuhr. Drew Mays is fun to watch. Hard to win 3 games vs same team in a year. I doubt if Ryle has ever done that to Boone in hoops. Alan has lots of moments of insanity in game management by jerking players during the year but deserves some credit for getting the Raiders to the region. Even in that debacle of a season last year, the Raiders almost pulled it together to upset a superior Boone squad. Major props to the Raider players for hanging in there this year. I close with a genius statement: the district final will be a better game than the last time the Raiders and Jags locked horns.

What was it 60-20something the last time they played? I hate to say it but I think Cooper is going to handle them with relative ease again. Just a feeling.
StraightShooter Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Not uncommon in basketball for a team to have an uptight game in the situation Cooper faced last night vs a hungry rival in a do or die game. Remember the year that SK won state. They survived Walton Verona in OT in a game the Bearcats should have won. I'm certainly not saying the Jags have a great shot at state but stranger things have happened. That's what the game reminded me of. Cooper is a tough matchup for Ryle and you may be right. I'll hope for a game like the December battle at Cooper. Jags are clearly the heavy favorite Friday night.

See the Highlands/NCC regular season game and then look at what happened in the District game Tuesday night. Highlands was blown out in that regular season game and then kept the game within 6 pts all night in the Districts. I know both teams know they are going to the Region and its not necessarily a loser goes home type situation but I would expect a much better game on Friday. Best of luck to both teams.
