Lee, Wolfe, Owsley, and Buckhorn are left. I decided to go to this game last night rather than watch Lee/Jenkins and I was glad I did! I really like this team OC has, although Smith get way to much love on this forum in just 5 or 6 games of work. But, anyway, I though Congleton played good D and the wholoe JBS team looked very weary and tired on Defense IMO. They held the score down and stayed in the game, but if Owsley shot better, it would have been a loss for JBS by 8 or 10 I think. By the way, In My Opinion, you've been very quiet about this thread. Its so funny how you told ol Prof not to underestimate Collins or it would come back to bite him and how you said OCHS's big man couldn't handle him. Looks like you were the one bitten by underestimation here my friend as the block at the end of the game was the play of the year for the Owls. And, no, he was not fouled. Good block

I agree with Ronnie that the JBS team looked weary. The reason I think for that is that the JBS coaching staff have not yet discovered the concept of team basketball. I have watched them play 5 times this year and keep waiting to see if the coaches decide to have a good team or a good player. So far it has been an effort to have a good player. How many coaches in the 14th region would love to have a 6'8" freshman playing center for them? I bet they would probably find a way to give him more than one offensive pass. They had better figure out a way or some other coach will probably have him next year.JMO

Yeah, the Stepps take care of their own...and thats about it. I think that this team is built around the premise of getting all the hype and credit to one player. Was the same way last year too. What happens when you shut him down? Look at the title of this thread to find out. They lose to one of the bottom 4 teams in the region.

:laugh: I guess they think they have a "phenom" in Pippa Passes. But all laughs aside, Tate Cox is an outstanding player, he is in 8th but he has been held back a couple of years I heard,so he's more like a sophmore, but still he plays like he's in college! He has more potential (along with the young center) than anyone on the team.

Had to be some contact there. No clean block. You say look at the score, [1] one point win. JBS drove for miles over crooked roads to get there, if they looked weary maybe that is the reason. Should be played on a neutral court. Cox had 19, Neely had 20. Stepp only had 14,way under his average, which is more important to some people than the win. I agree with you on that. Roads are crooked this is eastern ky so kids are amune to it. . I agree there was no foul, just a player stepping up and coming up with a big defensive stop when his team needed it most. Nice win for the owls and a all-around classic back and forth game in the opening round of the all "a" . Can't wait till Fri!!! :jump:

Crooked roads.... wow. No foul either, maybe a little body but it was a 6'3" kid blocking a 6'8" kid. I really dont know how Reed got up like he did, but I think I saw a couple of boys start to become men last night after the way they played. I think Owsley's new found heart will take them farther than the crooked roads of eastern Kentucky.

It was a clean block imo, but I am an Owsley fan.

But do you think the 4 blocked shots that Collins had on Robert Smith were all clean?
