UK's problem is when they are recruiting the best players in the country, they usually only have 8 to 9 regular scholarship players. If I'm not mistaken, I think you are allotted 13 scholarships. Why wouldn't you take the chance on someone like Hawkins? Maybe even someone like Omar Prewitt? It would draw good reviews and those kind of players could develop, and be useful down the road.

Hood is still a vet and nobody gets a bigger response in Rupp than him and Polson.

Are we looking for guys to get cheers or win games?

AMEN!

Some people who are making comments about Hawkins have probably never seen him play. Only Hawkins and his coach really know who is after him. That is the great thing about Hawkins, he just goes about his business.

Haha...I'm a home grown Ky boy, I completely understand where you're coming from and understand Louisville isn't anywhere close to UKs prestige. I'm just interested in UK getting 3/4-year guys that will stabilize the transition from year to year. That's all I'm saying.

To be honest I'm just kinda frustrated with this years UK team. I just thought a guy like Hawkins would be refreshing (I would take another MKG or Davis instead of course).

Don't you think that would be a need? Especially with this years chance of maybe not even making the tourney (no Noel makes it a real possibility). I think Miller would have been an asset with this group.

I don't disagree with 3/4 year guys, or taking the best players in the state. But, to say UL sets a higher standard in recruiting or in college basketball is absurd. That was my point. I wasn't doubting or downing Hawkins. I'm sure he is a fine player, as Darius was.

UK could sure use Hickey this year imo. I'd rather have him running the show than Harrow.

Disagree. Sorry, but IMO one player, such as the talent of a Hickey doesn't make a difference on this team at all. Maybe a Shabazz Muhammad, but then we have whole other issues on our hands....

This team just isn't all it was cracked up to be. It happens in recruiting. Remember these guys are judged based on how they do against other HS competition and sometimes that is against Sophomores, or even Freshman....
