If you are going that far (meaning to 10), then Jesse Daley would be there somewhere. And you have 2 from Boone (Jessica Jones and her sister Jessica Jones :D) and two from Ryle. I would definitely think that if Jones, Johnson and Olivero make the list, there is definitely argument for Daley! I would also think Mayes (NCC) would be close, in comparison to the last couple one on the list. I would also look at Ogle (ND) and Meyers (Conner). I'm sure there are others. I guess my point is, IMO there are 6 locks. The other 4 spots would really be on opinion of everyone.

I agree with you RCC. Who would be your top 6 though, in order if you could? If not thats fine too. What would be your list of players that would be potential candidates for the other four spots. I know you have seen a lot of girls games so I value your opinion. I have seen many but not all.

This is very tough and I'm not trying to hurt feelings, but this is probably the way I see it and I'll try to give a one-liner for my reason. And remember, some of this is really splitting hairs because I think each player plays different roles for thier team.

1) Voskuhl - Slight edge here for me. She does a lot for her team, scoring, defense, rebounding and ball handling. I know that several others do too, but she has done it against a tougher schedule (so far) than some of the others you can say the same things about--IMO.

2) J. Scott. - This is the tough one for me. She does the same thing for her team...everything! Great player! Again, splitting hairs and only saw her for one game and it was against a 6'1" defender for HHS. I thought HHS held her down a little and it appeared she had a few more turnovers than I thought she would have. Now in all fairness, she was harrassed by HHS all night and played that game without Gambrel, who definitely would have assisted with the pressure. Again, splitting hairs, but this is why I give Voskuhl the edge.

3) Schaeffer - this next group is tough. I go with Leah here. Maybe it's just because I see her so much. But she would be close to here anyway. She is not a stat stuffer, but she is an everything players for her team. She requires so much attention when she's on the floor that it makes others better. She is a lock down defender and can rebound well. She gets blocks, but also alters a ton of shots. She forces to change offensive strategies, just depending on where she is playing or who she is guarding. Heck, she often gets moved to the point when they struggle with ball handling. She just does soo much that doesn't get recorded.

4)Kiernan - When you say "stud" she comes to mind. An absolute force that teams complete game plan is formed around how to you stop her! A great scorer who is not just an inside player. Can shoot well and plays good defense in the paint. Only give the edge to Leah here because I think she is a little more versatile on both ends and has the added ball handling skills. But If I was starting a team, you wouldn't go wrong with picking Nikki first!

5)Beal - I think she is the most under rated in NKY. She is very similar to Scott where she does so much for her team. She can get to the basket and finish with anyone. She is a floor leader and plays solid defense. HC has some other really nice players, but would be nowhere close to where they are without Beal. If there's one opportunity, in my opinion she could work on her outside shot. I think a quick adjustment to her shot would help her and if she was a lights out shooter like Scott, she would be almost unstoppable.

6)Turner - Now I put her here and it's going to bite me in the butt because we play Holmes Thursday!!! Great offensive player! In fact, in one post I said I felt Holmes was a sleeper team (mostly because of her). I know they took one on the chin against Boone, but Boone has seemed to find some magic lately! Deja can shoot, drive and finish. She is very crafty for her age. She has a lot of ways to score! I haven't seen her yet this year, so she may change my mind after Thursday.

The best of the rest. If you forced me to put them in order, this is the order I would put them. But everyone could make an argument that could sway me a bunch of differnt directions.

Jones - extremely athletic, good ball handler and a great defender. Probably needs to learn how to score outside of just layups. Seems to struggles against a zone or teams that rotate well in MTM.

Daley - Great scorer in the paint. She has CARRIED the birds on several occasions this year, especially when Leah was out. I haven't seen ANYONE with the inside footwork of this young lady! Definitely her strength. Her post defense is typically pretty good, but outside of the paint defense is definitley her weakness.

Ogle - Another girl that I think is under rated or just played a great game against us! She carried ND at times against us. She also does a lot of things that may not stuff the stat sheet, but just a great comlimentary player to Voskuhl. She was able to penentrate our defense and make things happen.

Johnson - This may just be from lack of exposure to her. She was out when we played her, but I also saw Ryle play Frankfort in Louisville when she was playing. She was definitely the leader on her team! Now Frankfort has some very fast/quick players, so this might have led to my next comment. I feel her ball handling is a little suspect. Frankfort kept playing her on the right side and forcing her to the left and she didn't look like she felt very comfortable. She is a strong physical player and is probably forced to handle the ball a little more than she should. I was very impressed with her last year when she didn't have to be one of the main ball handlers. She is very good, but I would put her down at the bottom of the top players.

Mayes - After Kiernan, this is the next person on the game plan when you play NCC. Some may say she is a benefactor of so much focus on Kiernan, but even if that is true, you still have to execute! I think NCC went from a one-headed monster to a two-headed monster because of her development. I think she is a real nice defensive player as well. She seems to really "dig in" on defense (at least she did against us). I'm a defensive guy, so that gets my attention real quick. She's gonna be a good one!

Meyers - Just really impressed with her hard work on the court. I said in a different post that with a little polish, she will be very good. Her "blue collar" work is what got my attention from her. She was everywhere...rebounding, defending, blocking shots and playing her role as a scorer down low. I came into that game expecting to see more of a role player and left thinking that kid is going to be good!

Oliverio - I know that she has had some good games and is definitely a leader on this year's Ryle team, but I'm just not sure what that means. Ryle is definitely having a down year and I'm not sure if arguably the second best player on Ryle would be in my top ten. I think she is a good shooter and leader, just feel she is a little suspect in other areas of her game to be considered top ten. She is a very good bball player, but we're talking the best in the ninth region. She's close, but just not there for me. Again, not trying to hurt feelings and it's just my opinion.

Haley Coffey - definitely the best of the best....Whoops! Maybe I'm a little biased on this pick!

Great stuff. Appreciate your insights and agree with just about everything you mention. With Ryle having such a down year I can't see them having two players on this list. Haley Coffey will be there in due time.
