Keeton is no doubt a good coach but I have a problem giving him my vote for best coach in the 15th. His vote to have a blind draw in the 57th was a swing vote for district tournament pairings. That to me shows a lack of confidense in his team. I can understand Mike Hall from SC and the coach from MC voting against seeding because the baseball tradition has not been on the same level as JC and P-ville. Ketton on the other hand has a rich tradition at LC,but would rather take his luck with the draw and hope to by-pass either of these two teams. On the other hand Lawson is a gamer. I played legion ball with him at pikeville for one year. He knew the game back then and was a very smart leader on our team. Shawn Hall, from what I have witnessed has a very agressive style of play. He will take chances when he thinks he needs to. Shawn inherited a very good team at JC and he handled it well for a first year coach at that school. JC will win their share of games but we are down. He is a baseball man, a young one but a good one. I feel he will be the best in the 15th for years to come.

1997- Randy McCoy and Joey Thacker coached E. City

1990- Paintsville won the state championship

I remember now it was Randy and Joey. They had a good pitcher i remember. Clevinger.

 

Wonder why it took so long for Paintsville to win the region again. i've often wondered that. you know it took them 10 years to even get back to the regional final.

Allen Central was coached by Ronnie Patton when they won the region. He was fired right after that. Kidd coached the following year someone who had never coached before. Allen central hired a young coach last year in Ken Johnson, he's young and not perfect but maybe in time could be a good coach if given a chance.

Hall from Sheldon Clark does great with what he has to work with.

Like last year when he told his team not to shake hands after losing to PIkeville in the regional touranment.

Johnson Central won the region in 1995 and 1996 under Mike Collins.

Didn't know about the Pikeville thing. Just his teams usually can compete with most teams from the 15th. The feeder program in Martin co is nothing like Pikeville's and Johnson Co. But leadership is important.

I was extremely proud of Jarrett and Howell who totally ignored the redicule their coach was giving them for going to greet the Pikeville Players. Class act on their part and then the team followed its leaders to shake hands.

Is Jarrett playing college ball anywhere?

I heard he may tryout at Morehead, he is not on their 2006 roster however.

Jamie is working in the coal mines. This isnt pointed at anyone. Coach Hall(Mike) I know gets a bad rap on here due to some things that he has done but he is a very smart baseball minded man. Also he is respected by all of his players. He would do anything for us as well which means alot to our team knowing that. Some on here from JC that know him will agree.
