Anything new for Cole?

Still visiting colleges. Small and big schools.

In a way, Cole is in a tuff spot.

As a big fish in a little pond, the big (D-1) schools all consider it.

The smaller schools all want him.

He now has to see if anything opens up at the larger schools with all the coaching changes.

Has the size and tools to play with the big boys, just needs the opportunity.

Does he jump on an offer from a NAIA or D3 program or hold out hopes at a bigger program???

What college camps has Cole visited the last couple of years and are there any smaller D-1 schools looking at him?

He has attended University of Cincinnati, West Virginia, Eastern Illinois, Ohio, University, Morehead State, Miami, Western Kentucky, Lindsey Wilson. Eastern Kentucky and Eastern Illinois are the two main ones with UC a possibility. Miami was in for awhile but has been ruled out. Some D2 and 3 schools have made offers as have most the NAIA schools. He is looking at them all right now and taking visits.

Impressive highlights for Cole, somebody is going to get a very good player for the next 4 years. I've seen him in person a lot over the last 3 years and he got significantly better every year. If competition level is the factor, how many kids even in 6A play against DI talent? Can he play, can he move, is he strong? The answer is yes for all of the above. Closing the competition gap is a concern for almost all incoming freshman. Glad to see he won the Anthony Munoz Foundation Offensive Lineman of the Year in NKY, very deserving.

Other than this YouTube video,do you know how Cole has marketed his talents? Did he get a late start on getting his name out there, a lot of kids are starting to market themselves at the freshman and sophomore level. He definitely has the size for D-1 and if he truly has good footwork... there is a school out there for him. Do you know why Miami is not interested now?

Honest opinion from watching the clip - he has the size and strength; he looks a little slow. Overall, an impressive highlight reel. Unfortunately, that clip is clearly against a lot of weak competition. I would like to see the entire New Cath game and see how he handled higher level competition. I am surprised a D1 school would not take a shot at him with that size though. Best of luck to Cole.

Side note - does the Walton Verona PA guy do play by play all the time? I am surprised officials let that happen. I don't know the rules in KY but in Ohio you are not allowed to do PA that way. That interferes with live game action.

Thanks for the heads up. I will try to watch it this weekend. Like I said above, I find it hard to believe he isn't getting looks with that size.

He was hurt for the Freshman then got hurt in the basketball year in-between sophomore to junior year and missed the summer camps to be evaluated. He made it back to play in his junior year and was about 80 percent. He had to try to play catch up this past summer but must D1 schools had already offered. Miami got all commitments for tackle that they offered. They were not thinking they were going to get them all but they did. Another common theme is they, (D1) schools, say that they can go to Florida or Texas or Georgia and get players they know can play at the D1 level because they can see them on film against other D1 level players. I have been told that by multiple coaches, they say they can't tell what he will do against D1 level players. They don't want to take a chance but want to bet on a sure thing as possible.

Yes he does the play by play for home games.

Personally, I would find that irritating to listen to. If I were a coach, I would not allow it.
