How did Reed do?

Nip and and tuck game from the tip, with both teams hitting big shots throughout the game forcing the lead to change hands many times. WV missed 3 free throws down the stretch, including 2 with 14 seconds left while down one point.

Probably the most physical game I have seen in quite a while!!

Sandlin.

Walton missed two free throws with 14 seconds remaining. They still had their chance but missed three shots, two of them from point blank range, as time expired. Owen did what they needed to do to win and Walton couldn't hit the shots to prevent it. Congrats to the Lady Rebels.

Yes. This loss is no surprise to me as I said in another thread. Walton has struggled since Sandlin went out and they will continue to do so until some of the others step-up their game and show some leadership. Walton is a senior dominated team and someone needs to take over and provide the much needed leadership.

Congratulations to Owen County on their win. Also, congrats to Walton-Verona for an outstanding run over the past 3 years in the Class A tournament - three time 8th Region champion and a Class A State championship!!!! Great leadership from Coach Miller, Coach Clinkenbeard and Coach Sullivan!

It will be interesting to see how WV rebounds from this loss. Winning the All A 8th was a goal they should have accomplished. Will they dig in and get hungry or will they pack it up? Hopefully, this is a wake up call and they realize that they have to work harder if they are going to compete for the regional crown.

Being without Sandlin's services and Clinkenbeard being limited would be hard for any team to overcome. To say that WV should have won the 8th Region All A without those two is a bold statement. They could have won it, but to say they should have is not a fair assessment in my opinion.

I have to agree with FBD on this one. You did pick Owen to win because Sandlin was out. Even more so, and for the same reason, you stated that Walton was no longer a favorite win it. If you pick their opponent and you state they are not the favorite, how can you now say that they should have won it?
