Western Hills 65 Frankfort High 62 (OT)

Exciting game to watch between two vastly improved teams. Hated to see any of these kids lose. Both teams played their hearts out. Good luck to both in the District Tournament.

Hated to see the official make such a terrible call about how much time was left on the clock at the end of regulation. They did a good job of calling the game until then. Keene shot the ball with 3.0 second when it went through the basket there was .3 tenth of time left. the officials put 3.5 seconds on the clock. Then on the inbound Anderson was mugged. So FHS feels as if this game was stolen from them. In the OT WHHS clock operatetor stopped the clock on 2 different occassions while play was going on. I guess that is what home court advantage is.

WHHS and Frankfort played a hard faught game. It is a shame the kids didnt decide the out come.

The Panthers got robbed in this one. Coach Mefford is doing a good job. The Panthers have improved every week.

While I will agree that Frankfort got robbed on the time at the end of regulation, I think they still had something to do with the outcome. I don't think Anderson got fouled on the inbound. To me it looked like a very bad pass, and a good steal by Western Hills. However, the real question is why Frankfort didn't throw the ball down court. The inbound should have never came under Western Hills Basketball.

No real dog in the fight, just love watching high school sports but will say in the 30+ years I have played, coached and watched high school sports, I have never seen a game that I could not have pointed out at least a dozen calls that in my estimation could have changed a game in either direction 6-8 points, a touchdown, or a run or two. Upon reviewing films, however, more times than not the officials were correct and I was not. The back official came immediately to the others with the figure 3.2 seconds. He saw something that caused him to come up with that figure. I will have to disagree with you, Coach and say that Keene shot the ball with 6 seconds. I have seen those officials call many games and think they are pretty good. I don't think any high school officials have a personal agenda. This is not to say there are no bad calls. Again, congratulations to both teams on a classic game!

I've heard several different versions of the story, and all sound very similar. WHHS called a timeout with less than a second, and more than 3 seconds were put back on the clock...

There is no other word for it but Cheated...FHS was cheated. Anybody who didnt come to the game you can watch it again on cable 10 and see for your self... :madman:

Even they said FHS got Robbed!!!

You guys must be dang talented to be watching a game so closely and see what amount of time is left at exactly the right moment. Sounds like FHS couldn't get it done with the time left. Maybe someone should have stopped Keene from sinking that 3 that would have made the game less likely to be stolen! Kinda like a security deposit.

Gee.. I Guess it's too hard to look up at the clock while the ball is in the are to see how many seconds was left on the clock...

It was a hard fought game and both teams played their hearts out. Regardless of how many seconds were on the clock when the time out was called there were THREE referees that made that call. It's a shame people can't let it go and let the winning team enjoy their victory. A win is a win and I shouldn't have to remind you guys that it's the second one.

One call does not determine the outcome of a game. I can think of several times during the game that I saw kids get fouled or carry the ball or travel on both ends of the floor. Any of these calls could influence the game just as much as whether there was 3.2 seconds or 1 second at the end. The timing of the call magnified it's importance in everyone's mind. I didn't mean to open a can of worms. All I wanted to do was congratulate a group of fine young men on a very entertaining ballgame. I thought Josh Smith played a huge game for Frankfort on the boards and Matt Anderson found a way to score although he was being dogged by Tyler Combess on defense. Very fine performance by all these players. Charles Keene played a big time for Western Hills. Both teams had stellar perfomances from a number of players and this bodes well for the future of both programs. Well played, well coached on both sides.

I agree well coach and well played ball but officials... not so great... Oh and the Three Ref's didn't make the call they went to the scores table which was ran by one of the players parents on WH team and the put the 3 seconds on the clock.. Like coachBuckett said Home field advantage...

Ohhhh....I didn't know the time keepers could determine how much time to put on the clock. :creepy:
