36th district match up between the Wildcats and Breds Wednesday night.

Newcath comes in undefeated at 11-0 after winning the Ashland Invitational Tournament.

Newport comes in 8-3 but hasn't played a game since December 22nd.

Breds should be the favorite, but we will find out just how good Newport is.

Thoughts?

Is this a district seeding game?

This district does not seed.

Is this a district seeding game?

I don't believe they seed in the 36th.

Baseball and softball will be the sports seeding this year in the 36th.

Newport Catholic 63-54.

NC by 15 to 20.

NC by 15 to 20.

NCC by at least 15. McDonald and Schulte should have big games.

I tend to agree with this line of thinking.

Newport matches up much better with teams like Holmes, DIxie, and Holy Cross, who will play uptempo with them.

Against a team with more size, I think you'll see the Wildcats struggle.

My thinking has less to do with temp and more to do with NCC's ability to guard a bad offensive team.

Newport has guys who are skilled offensively...they just aren't patient enough to look for good shots.

Overall, they are actually a pretty balanced team.

That's like saying "she'd be pretty if it weren't for the big zit on her forehead."

If you aren't patient enough to look for good shots you are, as I said, a bad offensive team. Put that up against a strong D and you've got ugliness ahead.

But remove the zit and beauty could lye ahead. Who knows?

Clyde, you are hilarious! I love reading your comments.
