Practice originally set for noon Wed was moved to 5pm based on weather which obviously got worse. I'm speechless.

Turner and Witte need to be getting atleast 15 shots at the goal with Houliston out during this tournament. You cant depend on role players for the bulk of your scoring. They are great to get loose balls, rebounds an occasional bucket off an assist but the scoring has to come from the Veterans and Witte and Turner need to step it up and put the ball in the basket.

The Birds went 9 deep in today's game. With all 9 playing a fair amount of minutes. The seven role players ate up a ton of minutes and contributed a whopping 14 points.

With that type of support - Witte and Turner need to go for 25 each in order to compete. Not going to happen.

I think the tournaments are more about getting kids minutes more than anything, stleast I hope. If they ate playing for the next couple yrs already that would be sad.

Witte was much more involved in the preseason and opener against St Henry and was a go-to guy. I'd like to see that same intensity and leadership nightly. Turner hadn't played in almost 2 weeks with the head laceration and notching 10 pts and 6 rebounds today was solid.

Key is Witte, Turner,Houliston carrying the load scoring, True rebounding/blocking shots and the other guys givingslid bench minutes. But equal time for bench players resulting in only 14 points seems a little counterproductive.

Happy to see Turner back in the box score!

Congrats to the Bobcats - "A" State Champs a couple of years removed.
