[h=2]INDIANS 8-1 AFTER WIN OVER CHRISTIAN COUNTY[/h]Montgomery County won their 8th game of the season by defeating Christian County 73-60 in the second round of the Farmers National Bank Tournament in Mercer County. MCHS was paced in scoring by Bryan Wallace with 19 points. Omar Prewitt and Tyler Jones both scored in double figures with 14 and 11 respectively. Omar Prewitt recorded a double double pulling 12 rebounds to go along with his 14 points. Darius Jones and Xavier Piersawl had 8 points each. The Indians got 16 points from their bench with Hobie Hall, Sam Hodgson, Shelby Combs and Piersawl all scoring. The Indians forced 23 Christian County turnovers and scored 32 points off those turnovers. Wallace had 5 steals for the game. Prewitt recorded 4 blocks while Tyler Jones dished out 4 assists. The Indians move into the semi-final round Saturday at 7PM and will take on Bryan Station at Mercer County High School.

Is the kid from Owensboro Catholic playing for Monty?

This game was nowhere near as close as final score would indicate. I suspect that Happy rested some key players in last quarter. It was 51-25 when I left.

Is Xavier Piersawl new? That is a name I am not familiar with. Maybe he is the one from Owensboro that others have mentioned.

Yes he transferred from Owensboro. His family is from Montgomery County. Keith Piersawl played for the Indians from 1985-1988. I think he is listed on the websites record link under scoring and rebounding.
