I was at the game...it was very physical and not particularly well-called but that's no excuse for Central. They didn't play a whole lot of defense and CAL took advantage of the open 3's and layups.

Was Johnson Central missing anyone? They are ranked 12th in the BGP poll and CAL isn't even on the radar to be ranked. What am I missing? JC overrated?

From what I saw today, Johnson Central is a bit overrated. Just my opinion and it's hard to base anything on one game. I'll let you know as the weekend proceeds.

How did Gullett do for JC? #21, player with goggles. He impressed me when we saw him play at Boyd Co.

He played alright. Scored a few baskets but didnt' really stand out. Hall was pretty much the only player who played above averaged for Central today.

He looked good the night we saw them play, also guards did a good job. JC must not have been on their game tonight.

Probably says something, too, about how consistently tough the 7th Region is. Later posters mentioned some illness for Johnson Central and that could have had an effect, but 7th Region clubs are tough to beat.

True. I had seen that CAL lost to someone pretty badly who wasn't ranked. I knew how good CAL used to be but not sure of them this year. I7d think if JC justified their ranking they'd give a better showing. Not necessarily beat CAL but at least not get blown out.
